Leafs are fine at centre. This trade is more than what the Canucks gave up for Lindholm

Not more, but close.
Bruz is a very good prospect.

I would think that Monahan's value is less than Lindholm for the sole reason that Monahan missed so much time last year, health has to be a bit of a concern. Am I off base?

We'll see about Bruz. High scorer Dmen in junior or even AHL often don't even get a sniff of the NHL. Certainly Flames are hoping he's a NHLer soon after likely losing Hanifan and Tanev this summer or likely traded sooner.

Monahan is also just a worse player than Lindholm

But why? Monahan is significantly inferior to Lindholm and Toronto don't need him.

It's true he has less value (though that could be offset by being more value/dollar), but mainly because Lindholm is a candidate to re-sign while Monahan is more likely to be a pure rental.
Their perceived value also differs and the injury history is part of that.
Monahan's injury problems are behind him for now, but his physical ability will regress sooner due to surgical hip repairs.
Everyone is different but he's still on a timer.
It's not an immediate concern unless he suffers an (unrelated) injury which also impacts that hip area.

Bottom line is that he's good to go for now but you'd want to think twice before offering him an extension, especially one with term.

Sure why not. Monahan has been better than Lindholm this year.

Still can’t believe that overpay by Vancouver. Woof.

its more important to look at recent results, over the past 3 seasons lindholm has had an average of 0.35 goals per game and 0.84 points per game. Monahan has had an average of 0.19 goals per game and 0.54 points per game. Lindholm is also a lot better defensively. I also think vancouver overpaid a bit so there is that randomness factor I guess

Junior defensemen scarcely see the NHL. I don't think being a high-scoring WHL defensemen has much correlation with not making the NHL. Hell, I'd imagine it's the inverse.
