If Turcotte is ready to go, then I can see the Kings going for that. Lizotte is still listed as week-to-week though.

I disagree. Lizotte (when healthy) is an elite fourth line center. He'll perform better that Turcotte in a fourth line role.

coming off a 40 goal 70 pt year? i dont think that is a overpayment at all. would fit the 2C for years to come as he is under contract for a few more seasons. exact same role as kadri played

He's a rental and the Kings can't afford to bring him back next season. If they can get a quality prospect and a 2nd for him, they'd be crazy not to take it. Turcotte has centered Grundstrom and Lewis while Lizotte has been injured and has looked fantastic in that role. He won't play on the 4th line next season, but would be a good fit there in the short term.

Byram still has immense potential, maybe even 2D potential. You may be right though, McCann at that contract is a steal and may fetch an overpay for that reason. I’d say it’s a slight overpay

I think McCann would thrive in Denver; Byram plus a 1st is a lot but, the Avs don't have a 2nd until 2026 so maybe that would have to be the price if they really, really wanted McCann. Question is: why would Seattle trade him? He's in his prime and has a reasonable contract. I guess if they wanted Byram more than they need McCann, it would be a good move but I don't know what they've got down the middle coming up that can replace McCann. To me, though, the value is there for the Avs except they'd then need to replace Byram which would be tough to do. This feels more like an offseason trade.

not massive at all, mccann just came off a 40 goal year that he could easily repeat playing with the talent in Colorado. Avs need a 2C more than a 4th/5th Dman right now so everyone will ask for a premium for them to aquire one.
