I'd argue Saros has been playing well. He's just not playing as well as he has in recent years. Not to mention the team in front of him is in fluctuation, which hasn't helped him or his stats. If you've watched any of the Preds games, he's been the victim of a lot of bad bounces. Like double deflections off of defenders, defenders screening him trying to block shots, and defenders missing easy assignments in the crease. Not making excuses just pointing out that he's a very good goaltender in not the best situation.

Either way at this point I think a Saros trade happens in the offseason and not before the TDL just because of the asking price and teams don't seem to be desperate enough to meet that

Moving the guy who ultimately is likely to replace Burns in a move for a goalie, and one who is having a down year to boot, is just terrible asset management.

CHI would have zero interest in Deangelo. Gunler is pretty much worthless, which is sad to say because I had high hopes for him. BUT, with some changes to the trade, I am positive we could work something out around Murphy and Raddysh.

"Trotzy" isn't going to get what he wants and you're going to be disappointed in any return for Saros. If you don't like it, quit posting on AGMs

Yeah I just threw TDA in there because I had to get the cap to work and didn't feel like making another trade lol. Koivunen might be something more interesting to the Hawks than Gunler. I agree I don't really know how valuable Gunler is anymore which is disappointing like you alluded to.

Are you calling Morrow a blue chip? He's 81st in THW's top 100. He's not even your best defense prospect? Another case of teams over valuing their prospects.

He has the potential to be a top 2 defenseman for any team and people are describing him as "the next Adam Fox". I consider that a blue chip prospect. Sounds like you have an unrealistic definition for "blue chip". Nikishin is untouchable and Morrow is just about untouchable himself. You'd be lucky to get either one in a trade for Saros.

Putting aside the Hawks probably don't trade Murphy before next seasons TDL, the 1st, 2nd and RD prospect is a solid offer for Murphy half retained. Hawks wouldn't include Raddysh unless Carolina added another piece or pieces the Hawks actually wanted. Gunler and DeAngelo aren't.
