Laughton has been worse than jarnkrok in pretty much any way you can think of this year, But sure i bet he's gonna be better because of playoff physical magics

there is no way the penguins are taking cap dump Järnkrok off your books.
Maybe in a year or two they will take him and a 2nd when they start to rebuild. But they sure as hell wouldn't every give up a draft pick for him.

If you think Jarnkrok is a "cap dump", then there is not much reasoning that can be done with you. Most of the league's bottom 6 forwards must be "cap dumps" then.

It is fine to think your team does not need the player, but to suggest a third line player on a very team friendly deal is a cap dump is lunacy.

Jarnkrok is hardly a cap dump. 35 point player making 2.1m is a bargain. Gee, Pens pay Smith and Rakell 5m for about the same production.

when your team is up against the cap and you need to move cap out..... it's called a cap dump.

To most on here, all leaf players are cap dumps. Marner has no value because he makes too much. The lunacy do this site is nuts

Jarnkrok is definitely not a cap dump, but PIT, or any team for that matter, is DEFINITELY not paying a 2nd for him.

That's fair to suggest you do not think he is worth a 2nd, I do not think many teams would pay a 2024 2nd for Jarnkrok either. He is not available for trade anyway most likely, his production for 2.1M and term remaining is very valuable to the Leafs.

I was only commenting on the "cap dump" part of the comment, and the lack of understanding of what a cap dump truly is.

It's always very telling when you've had a dubas themed night terror. Was teddy not able to comfort you back to sleep last night?

A 2nd for Jarnkrok? lmao.

PIT doesn't have the cap space anyways, and they would not spend a 2nd on Jarnkrok

Remember when Dubas traded Marchment for Malgin? Lets compare their NHL stats for this season grimace

Marchment (6'4" 201 pounds): 46P in 36GP
Malgin (5'9" 177 pounds): 0P in 0GP

Well, you have to kind of look at the numbers if you’re checking cap 🧐. And in no way are they ‘up against the cap’. They have $1.6M in cap space with 23 man roster ; more if they move people out or waive to minors. Again, do some homework. Jarnkrok isn’t getting moved but if he is, it won’t be as a cap dump - dude was on track for back to back 20 goal seasons almost all at 5v5 and plays PK

The trade is still relevant today because Marchment has 46P in 36GP this season

How do you think Dubas' new Denis Malgin will do in Matthew Phillips. Dubas wins bonus points for finding someone that is smaller than Malgin

I dunno, hey what about Matthew tkachuk, i hear some moron traded him for one of the worst contracts in the league and tanked the team. Tkachuk cant be doing that well if that's the return right?

Remember when Treliving traded Tkachuk for Huberdeau and proceeded to give Huberdeau the worst contract in the NHL?

Remember when Treliving gave away Lafferty (20 points, 105 hits in 54 GP) for a 5th round pick so that his free agent signing in Reaves (2 points in 27 games) could make the team?

Remember when Treliving traded a 1st to dump Monahan who Montreal then acquired a 1st for?

Remember when Treliving could’ve signed Nylander for 9-10M in the offseason, but then waited and had to give him 11.5M?

Remember when Treliving gave James Neal 5x5.75M?

Remember how all of Treliving’s major signings this season have massively underperformed

I don't think you want to use two guys who are vastly underperforming as your comparables.
Last year Rakell had 28 goals and 60 points
Smith had 26 goals and 56 points
Jarnkrok had 20 goals and 39 points
The difference between a 2nd and 3rd liner.
The Pens gave up a 3rd for Smith, why would they give up more for less?

Jarnkrok got to 20 goals last year shooting 19%. He is on pace for 17 goals if he plays 82 games which he never has.
