For the record I don’t think the Habs are the destination for Mantha, but also Mantha has been great this season. Caps absolutely shouldn’t even consider this trade.

Armia has 12p. Mantha has 28p and 17goals. "basically for a more expensive version of Armia" is the dumbest comparison i can think of lol. Mantha is a much much much better player. Armia is a good 4th liner with a middle 6 cap him + term.

Habs can sign Mantha if they want him after this season and he's not going to the Habs but this trade is terrible for Washington. Just trade mantha for a 2nd @50 retained

I think you need to read CF67 last sentence again. His opinion states that 'Habs could sign Mantha if they wanted him after the season'. Then he says 'he's not going to the Habs' inferring that 'If they wanted to, they could try but it's not happening'. Then he says 'the trade is terrible for Washington'. It is because they would be getting only a decent 4th liner to replace a 20 -25 goal scorer. This is in fact, not a good move for Washington. Then he gives the opinion that most of us share that if he's going to be moved that 50% retained to get a 2nd rounder back is a good trade. I don't think he was saying that's what Montreal would/should give. It's the deal that should be made, but not to Habs.

Mantha is having a stellar season and Armia is absolutely horrible. Caps don't even consider this trade

You must not watch other teams as well then if you think Armia is having and I quote "absolutely horrible" season. Hes one of the best defensive forwards in the league. You must only look at Goals and Assists. Probably even use +/- as a way to judge players
