Why in the hell would Montreal trade all of those futures for a 36 year old D?

Tampa Bay easily declines. Reilly Smith doesn't get you Erik Cernak. I could see the POJ for ABB swap though.

TB counters Marcus Peterson 50% retained for Connor Sheary.
Serious question why on earth would TB give up their best Rd signed 24-33 years old at a nice number for a soon to be 33 yo middle 6 foward? It would be GM Malpractice on Brisebois part.

OTT has no interest in EK, and they would not trade a 26 yo for a 34 yo.

the colorado one is kind of reasonable.

the rest are an odd mix of pittsburgh getting robbed, and pittsburgh robbing teams.

That COL is not reasonable even a little lol. Maybe in contrast to the others?

Girard is a fine player, but he's a good 2nd pairing dman. That and 2 firsts isn't nearly enough for Sid. Gonna need some top prospects in there.

i just don't think that's overly realistic. the primary reason for this is that it's not like the entire league will be able to bid on crosby. if he's moved, it's crosby's decision, and i'm guessing that he will want two things:
1. a team that he wants to play for that is cup competitive, and has a real need for him - Boston and Colorado are really the only ones that come to mind.
2. that the team isn't stripped of things that will help them compete for a cup over the next two seasons. so i think prospects that are NHL ready are out.

That leaves draft picks, and probably a roster player to make the money work. I don't think teams are going to move more than two first round picks for a guy crosby's age (even though they probably should). Therefore, because it isn't exactly in a vacuum, i think this is a pretty reasonable offer.

Your logic is incredibly flawed and dismisses actual value. It's not a reasonable offer. Not even a little. You're not gonna get an elite level player for that little.

That's one of the only ways a contender is trading a top 4 Dman, Avs accept, and that's actually a pretty reasonable deal for both teams. We'd probably even send you RyJo and a 2nd so you have a C back and a bit for taking him.

sigh.

okay, why don't you tell me why? not much of a response if you just thump your chest and say, "no, because i said so." why? what precedent are you drawing from? I don't think it's about actual value at all, as i specifically addressed in my post. I think it's a hybrid of value and what is best for crosby. so why don't you come up with some actual reasoning? Or come up with an instance of a team coughing up more than two draft picks for a year and a bit of a player in their late 30s.
