Manson, Wood, Wagner, O’Connor all have the same number of fights as MacDermid this season.

Honestly the possible fights are a benefit, think it might be an attitude change for the Devils. MacDermid in 150 mins this year is now 12 on the Devils in hits. Minus Bastian, Mcleod, Hischier, and Lazar the Devils have played like talent is all they need this year and look like they just expected to get back to the playoffs.

Maybe MacDermid throwing some hits starting scrums might shake something lose for the Devils.

this presumably opens up a roster spot for an incoming player (or 2) for the Avalanche. another trade coming, obviously.

Macdermid was a good locker room guy. And he's big. That's about all he has. Doesn't really fight anymore. Played 4 minutes per night on the 4th line. The fact we got anything for him is kind of a W tbh. With that said, he's a Stanley cup champ, and I wish the big man all the success in NJ.

I suppose but it's still giving up assets to make the team worse

yeah how valuable those 7th round picks and never gonna make it to the NHL prospects are.

An answer to Matt Rempe. I personally liked Big Mac when he was in LA, partly because the team lacked some size and toughness at that point

I'm gonna miss Dermy as a person. As a player though, he wasn't necessary to carry anymore. He is clearly not a forward and we have Jones, Malinski, and Hunt (anyone remember him?) in our pipeline.

Assuming this is a cap move, Avs win.

Jersey got a player who is, at worst, a versatile injury replacement.

The Avs got two pieces, neither of which will likely play a single game in the NHL.

Jersey wins.

Avs got $1M in cap space and some mediocre assets for a player that wasn’t playing regularly in the lineup even with injuries.

If they didn’t make a deal like this, he’d probably be on waivers before the TDL.

Rempe hits Bastian: NJ trades for a strongman in the following week.

NJ goalies underperform since the start of the season: *cricket noises*
