Take out Mercer and Holtz you are closer to realistic.

BTW - Boston would do Ullmark for Holtz 1 for 1 so Conroy does not have any leverage.

I could see a scenario where Boston trades Ullmark for Holtz and then trades DeBrusk and Lohrei for Hanifin and Vladar’s negative contract

NJD would be open to a swap like that but I'd expect it comes with retention on Ullmark.

Apparently the offer on the table that nearly went through was Holtz for Markstrom (2 mill retained). Nothing else

I'd prefer retention to dumping vanacek personally. I would also rather discuss picks but Calgary specifically has apparently been more interested in NHL ready guys.

Maybe:

NJD sends: Vitek, 1st, 2nd, 2nd
Gets: Ullmark, 50% retained

Boston sends: Ullmark (no retention), 3rd
Gets: 1st, 2nd

Team 3 gets: Vitek, 2nd, 3rd
Gives: 50% retention on ullmark, random reserve list guy they don't plan on signing to follow regulations

Calgary accepts the NJD deal but rejects BOS. Rather have Lohrei than Grzelcyk anyway since CAL can't have Poitras.
