That Defense is weird so and we take a loss on Hronek. As we dealt 17th and 43rd in a deep draft. For a 14th at best and a 55th+ 2nd round pick in a draft not as deep plus take back a bottom pairing D making 3m a year rather throw less at bringing back Myers.
Development and Walker are alright but team prefers to have size in their other Defenceman so don't think they throw 9.5m at the two players.

Hawks decline. They won't be buyers this summer. They'll keep their picks.

I don’t have a problem with Boeser and Mikheyev as players but given their age and contract status they will have moved on before the Hawks are really ready to compete which makes giving up draft capital to acquire them a bad decision.

Hronek is gonna cost more than Necas, not sure how they could fit that in.

Canes have 0 interest in Hronek. Long term, there's no fit. Morrow, Heimosalmi , Nikishin coming through will take the top 4 slots, and that's a lot for a 3rd pairing D man.

Ok so now tell me the extension that FH signs with Carolina. Why would the Canes trade one RFA issue for another. I’d make the same comment for the Canucks too.

I like Hronek and the Hughes/Hronek pair. Though I don't believe Hronek is worth $7M+ and I expect that'll be his ask. Hughes is helping him get paid big time.

Going on that thought, DeMelo has shown his ability to play with an offensive dman and is a much better defender than Hronek. Walker can fill any 2nd PP spot with Hronek's departure. Short term deal until Willander develops further. He's also more effective on PK than Hronek. Soucy and Cole remain the Canucks best defensive dmen and Cole the best PKer. TVR also solid on PK.

Probably similar to any long term deal with Necas. Outside Burns, everyone else headed to UFA. Not saying they won't want to stay but that was the thought. Morrow maybe bottom pair. Necas might be expendable to fill a need if they want to keep Guentzel.

Even if CHI were buyers, they aren't going to pay that much for one year of Boeser. I think they'd sooner go after a big ticket free agent and keep their assets, which they are also unlikely to do. I'm not so sure VAN can get that much for Boeser on the market anyway. I guess if VAN is down and out at next years deadline, they might be able to trade him as a rental for a mid to late 1st to a team that needs a goal scorer. I'd be very interested to see what he returns if VAN wants to move him. But I doubt it'd be the hawks.

Impossible to judge any of this. In a vacuum - if you are saying Hronek and Necas sign identical RFA deals…Canes keep
Necas. Canes have shown an ability to find defenders, and have better defenders in their pipeline coming.

Nikishin and Morrow should both be in the mix by then. No Necas replacement in the pipeline.

Why trade Boeser and replace him with two older options? Him and Miller have been such a great fit together, that trade makes zero sense for VAN

Thank Christ you're not our GM, moving out Hronek and replacing him with DeMelo and TVR is one of the most braindead decisions I've ever seen someone make, even if we do recoup assets in the process... Also moving out Boeser and replacing him with older guys is the exact wrong decision to make, yes management wants to win now but even then, you have made this team SIGNIFICANTLY worse with these god awful moves, if Boeser is moved out to clear cap then we'd better be signing Reinhart or the Brockstar stays a Canuck.

Fair enough i dont mind trading Hronek but i do think there would be a better trade than that for him. We would still need a D who can move the puck to replace what Hronek does.

Also I think if you want a guy to be a short term guy I think better option is Tanev and should be cheaper then Demelo. I like Cole/Soucy I hope Cole will take a bit less to be an injury replacement level and bring Zadorov back as he brings physicality that the none of Defence bring other then maybe Juulsen. I'd suggest the replacents being Justin Schultz/Tanev/Myers (if he'll sign for dirt cheap) building a D core of:
      Hughes- Tanev
Soucy- Myers (or cheap replacement or Cole and have McWard/Woo as the 8th D)
      Zadorov- Schultz
      Cole- Juulsen

Lol are you not bored with repeated posts with variations of the SAME lineups over and over?

I believe you have also made some funny acGMs...

Anyhow, yes JT and Boeser have been very good. I wouldn't suggest that need to happen. I'm more open to Hronek being dealt if he wants to get overpaid while Hughes has helped this career year.

Obviously Debrusk is not Boeser but they are the same age. The older adds are on top of Debrusk given Lekkerimaki is probably a year away.

You are also underrating DeMelo and this FOs focus on PK guys.

Nikishin's going to have an immediate impact, and the Canes can just grab third pairing D men in free agency, no need for Hronek, especially at the price of Necas

Sorry I mean immediate as in next season. But he definitely seems promising when the time comes.

Next season we still have Orlov and Burns, still no need for Hronek
