Sharks looking good down the middle with Macklin

Created by: Connor_McJesus_97
Team: 2024-25 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 14, 2024
Published: Mar. 14, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Expect them to overpay on some players to get over the cap. Hence the Brown deal and so on. But I think this top 9 looks very exciting! Also buying out Vladic ends his suffering and you open up new slots to younger players

  1. 2025 1st round pick (PIT)
PIT
  1. 2024 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Penguins use the top 10 clause to get their 2024 pick to then go for it again in the 24-25 season
2.
SJS
  1. Bourgault, Xavier
  2. Campbell, Jack ($1,000,000 retained)
  3. Ceci, Cody
  4. 2025 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
2027 3rd and 2027 4th

Sharks add some picks and also get a prospect. In return Oilers get rid of 2 bad contracts they don’t want and free up alot of capspace. Plus they add a goaltender. With 1m retained on Campbell if Sharks would decide to buy him out it would be better for them. Could still see Campbell play at least a season for Sharks before the buyout. Either he will bounce back or he will help Sharks tank for Misa
3.
SJS
  1. Goodrow, Barclay
  2. 2025 1st round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
I think Sharks would love to take back Goodrow and you get paid a 1st for doing it aswell
NYR
  1. Sturm, Nico
Additional Details:
This deal could be done at TD. Then some team could retain 1m on Sturm and they will get the Sharks 5th pick for the trouble. Stutm is good at winning faceoffs and would be good for Rangers penalty kill and good as a 4th or 5th centermen.

Buying out a player while 21 million under the cap is ludacris

Just don't sign myers or brown. That's not blocking anyone

The NYR trade is interesting because Sturm actually has value

I think the way the pens are playing that they have a real good shot at getting Macklin Celebrini

Even in last places there’s a 75% chance you don’t land Celebrini. Just ask us in ANA how good those odds are

First of all Chicago’s probably getting Celebrini and second of all Campbell is worth a bag of pucks

Rangers are not giving up a 1st to trade Goodrow or acquire a 4th line center they don't need.

Probably not buying out Vlasic and Musty is probably another year away. The rest I get.

Why do people think Ceci has a bad contract? The guy has played top-4 for years under many different coaches and makes just $3.2M. That's not a bad contract for a 2nd pairing RHD.

I don't think people on this website a really understand how buyouts work, I see this all the time.
