Any conversation about Necas to the Habs will have to be circled around one of Suzuki, Caufield, or Slafkovsky being a piece that comes Carolina’s way in return. Canes don’t need dmen, and the ones that Montreal would be offering wouldn’t be much interest, since they would be playing on the 3rd pair with not much opportunities to be anything more, or would be scratched.
As for forwards, the 3 aforementioned forwards would be of interest, but not much else. Futures also isn’t of much interest considering that the Canes have enough as is, but they are also a contender.
Suzuki>Necas is the problem with this theory.
He's signed to a low cap , never misses a game and has gotten better every year without fail and sitting top 20 in Faceoff Win % over 1000 draws for the first time in his career.
Necas is worth a Caufield for sure , i wouldnt do that trade but the value's there.
But each time i correct you on including Suzuki you do it anyways completely invalidating a fair point .
Its a choice you make that has Habs fans laughing to hard to make any serious counter offer ,as it would if we offered you Caufield for Aho would from a CAR fan POV
Suzuki and Aho are peers, Suzuki's just younger.
Caufield and Necas are peers, Caufield is just younger
Really MTL and CAR just arent good trade partners when it comes to the high end.
That said CAR does need space if they plan on keeping Guetzal to, and i do think he'll re-sign
Kuznetsov has been a home run for you guys and a really saavy pick up
But if you cant manage to get one of your players resigned like a Drury or a Jarvis but thats unlikely at best
CAR filled all their holes and unless they're shopping for a D then im not sure what we have they'd want honestly.
I mean they really didnt spend that much of their draft capital so we cant even really tempt you guys there.
