Giving up all THAT for Saros seems way too much. I'm not a fan of offering ANY 30 year old an eight year contract.
There are good UFA goalies available for a less than 5m and don't have to give up anything to acquire them.

If Saros comes with an extension, gotta think NSH would be looking at the 2024 1st instead of 2025. But that may change the structure of your proposed deal more than just swapping those picks.

That offer is way too much for Juuse Saros.

You underpay Zadorov and overpay Perron, And it's more than likely from what's been reported that Yzerman plans on extending Perron for at least a year or two.

He is 28 years old, turning 29 in a few days. My argument would be to have a NMC for the first part of the contract and then take it away in the last 3 or so years. That's what Fitzgerald did for Palat and Hamilton. I just think this team has a shot at the cup year after year if they get more physical and get the saves they need. Yes, it is a lot, but NSH won't take less. We have to give them a reason to give up a star goalie. I think Saros is our only shot at a star goalie.

I'm sensing your audience doesn't want Saros for what you're asking. Can I interest you in a different 30 year old goalie you can get for a more reasonable package? Because Ullmark and J. Boqvist for Siegenthaler, a 2nd, and a LW prospect is totally on the table.

If 2024 picks...its just a rental (as he cannot come with extension until July 1st).

And its too much anyway.

Can still be discussed and agreed upon prior to the trade. That’s not abnormal.

Why would the main piece be a goalie? Doesn’t make sense for NSH in a Saros deal when they already have Askarov.

Saros with an extension cannot involve the 2024 1st as he is ineligible for an extension until after the draft

Personally think it is a bit much for saros with the extra RW prospect but Trotz likely doesn't let him go unless there is an overpayment. Would prefer 2024 1st but with Nashville having tampas 2025 1st already another 2025 1st might be nice. Add in the possible trade deadline 1st if Nyquist has another great year and we trade him and we could have a great 2025 draft.

They can discuss and agree to extension. But there is little evidence that “with extension” changes the price a whole lot. There is one market, top bidder wins. And if some teams feel like they can extend, they may increase their bid.

It doesn’t have to be a goalie. We have plenty of prospects to chose from.

Would have thought if you want a star goalie then Ullmark would be more available (only slightly older) and as you already have a trade there with the Bruins it probably makes more sense and you'd likely have to give up much less.

Devils fans crack me up thinking top starting goalies can be had for a pile of spare parts and minor league players. Everyone knows they need a goalie the good ones won't be cheap.

Every team who has ever traded for a goalie has needed a goalie.

None of them have paid the exhorbiant prices suggested on here
