Aside from kadri, no one you added has won anything

Why would you make that trade for Kadri? I feel like adding Jenner was enough for a 3rd line revamp. In fact, I think a 3rd line of Kulich-Jenner-Savoie would be more compelling than the one you've proposed.

Also, I think there are better targets for the 4th line than Tierney and overpaying Krebs. Krebs for 1mil for 2 years and then bring back William Carrier.

Added over 100 games worth of playoff experience with those 3 players, just because they didn't win a cup doesn't mean they don't know what it takes to win in the playoffs

A guy like Kadri who can still produce and plays a style the Sabres are sorely lacking is a must add for this team, maybe not him but someone like him, this team doesn't have. Savoie has one NHL game under him and is undersized. The Sabres have enough of those players. Kulich at least has AHL experience playing as a teenager there

Jenner/laine for both packages, gives you a 2 year trial over 6 years of kadri, would be interesting what Columbus says?

I think adding Jenner and signing Carrier would make enough of a difference in physicality. If you still want the pest element, I'm confident that you could get similar for cheaper while saving the trade chip that is Savoie.

Laine being 25 years old is mind blowing, feels like he should be at least 30 by now. His body is that of a 34 year old though

Rather 2 years of him than 6 or whatever is left on that kadri deal, that’s a lot of cash for somebody that possibly backs up top 6, slotted 3rd line vet center is a little over doing it.

Kadri has almost twice as many points at Jenner and Carrier combined. Kadri can still play and has a solid 3 years left. Kadri and Jenner together gives the Sabres something they haven't had since 2007, 3 lines that can score but also can play physical

His contract is too long for CGY to even retain on him not to mention a full NMc.

Jackets easily say no. Jenner is not available and trading Laine at his lowest value makes no sense unless he comes out with a trade demand.

Not even a sneak it past the new gm with some shiny prospects and picks. Leave the contract dump till later in the conversation lol

I don’t hate this trade for Jenner at all.

I am not interested in trading Laine currently.

a new gm coming in and trading Jenner would be the dumbest move he could make. The fans would instantly hate them, you would see people demanding they be fired before the season even gets started.

We can likely just agree to disagree, but my solution also gives them a 3rd line that can be physical while also giving them a 4th line that'll almost certainly outscore, as that's something Carrier has done habitually throughout his career. If you don't want Savoie there, pick one of the many UFA W options that's more to your tastes or find a young, prime-aged trade target to use Savoie on, My point is that you can achieve your goal without having to endure the likely burden that'll be Kadri's last 3 or 4 years- the window in which BUF will be pushing to contend.

Kulich-Jenner-(UFA/Trade) <---- He's no Kadri, but I quite like Amadio for this spot

I was more on the trying to get laine out of town, but ya awfully tough on the value, and how bad or good that could turn on the ice. New gm might get a free pass, but probably doesn’t include the 27million of skinner on the return.

oh yeah Laine is the tougher one cause we dont know when/if he will be back. If he does come back does he want to stay here or go somewhere else? just a lot of unknowns. His value is at its absolute lowest right now, so i think our new gm would realize there isnt much benefit to us to trade him at this low value. We are better off hoping he can regain some value or become a productive member of our lineup.

If you could clear the 8.7 and have an exciting ufa add to offset the negative of losing the value, might be interesting, but ya tough to speculate on what swings the deal and what comes back In cap. Gaudreau came to town, but will be interesting if he’s an anomaly or a trend. Always seem to pull for the underdog teams in sports until there good, then there off the radar lol. Big patriots fan for first championship, then moved on lol

like i said i think the only way Laine is moved this offseason is if he comes back and demands a trade.

Pass on both. Understand the logic but can’t give up savoie for kadri when you could almost certainly do better given his age.

Jenners a tad overrated. The value is fine probably cause cbj fans love him including the owner but I’d rather gamble on ostlund turning into something

Thought I read that he wasn’t returning to Columbus, but can’t find the article to quote it, all I could find was his condo was up for sale, now that’s some small town living, when house sales are making news

he in the player assistance program. There has been no reports that hes not returning, just that basically no one knows what he wants. His condo going for sale is a story because hes a big name player that is away from the team and is selling the place he lives. He could just be moving to another part of town or it may be a sign he intends to leave columbus. Not sure how its small town living, more just sport journalist trying to find something to write about, i imagine if Tage entered the player assistance program and while in it put his house in Buffalo for sale, you would see articles about it.

i disagree. take LA, i think if PLD all of a sudden sold his place in LA, it would be a story and you would see speculation that he intends to leave LA/request another trade. This is just sports journalists, they love making mountains out of molehills. Similar to where you see stories of young guys moving from their apartment near the arena to buying their own place is a sign they are sticking around.

Players selling their homes when their future is in question *always* make the news. Dunno how you think this situation is unique.
