Description
So the scenario is the Jackets land the 1OA pick. Anaheim traded for and signed Cutter Gauthier. Would Anaheim make this trade to bring in Macklin Celebrini? Would the CBJ be interested? Just curious. I have my opinion about it but I want to hear others opinions about it.

I don't really see the point from Anaheims perspective. We don't need to be getting a 3rd center with a top 3 pick.

Is the gap between Zegras and KJ covered by the separation of Celebrini to Lindstrom? Probably, but I also ask why CBJ would do this when it's known they could use another top 6 C. This just feels like shuffling pieces around for sh*ts and giggles.

I also fail to see what bringing up Gauthier has to do with anything.

I don't understand why Columbus would think to do this. Even if Kent wants out ( rumours) you would not miss on Celebrini even if you are wealthy at centre.

Celebrini is projected to be a franchise player. Zegras, Johnson, and Lindstrom are probably elite when it's all said and done, but not franchise cornerstones.

If we get 1OA for the first time in franchise history and trade it, I'm personally moving the team to Arizona.

I agree. I was just posting this bc a friend of mine asked me what I thought about this. I told him very similar things. You all gave the same reasons I explained to my friend about.

I haven't seen any reports that's he's franchise player level. Certainly concensua 1OA and will be a star player, but not franchise potential.

He's not Bedard/Matthews/McDavid level, but CapFriendly's own scouting lists him as franchise potential. Others they list in that category are Stutzle, Makar, McDavid (duh), MacKinnon (also duh), Quinn Hughes, Crosby, Barkov, Josi, Heiskanen, Hedman, Pettersson, etc.

So it's not really "franchise altering", but it is "franchise cornerstone".

Dude what? I’m convinced you are not a jackets fan. You’ve had some of the worst proposals on this site. Zegras is barely better than Kent Johnson let alone cellibrini better
