Description
I would like to see the Jackets make a big trade this offseason. There are not enough top 6 spots for the amount of high end picks/prospects/young players in the org. We're going to see these players lose value if they're not allowed to establish their role. I hope the new GM recognizes this and cashes in on players while they still have value. We need to consolidate. Rather than watch guys get traded in a few years for next to nothing... Bemstrom, Roslovic, Peeke, Foudy etc.

They will have to go after guys who are considered untouchable. I am looking specifically at players between age 23-28 with a lot of term or that expire as RFAs.. and guys without a NMC or NTC. The resources to make a trade happen are there

Carolina doesn’t have a reason to move him. May find better luck finding a top-6 player from a team that has tighter cap constraints next year. VGK, COL, MTL, NYR…etc

What package would you put together for Buchnevich if he came with an 8x8 extension? He's a little old for what you're looking for but he would still be a great fit. I think a package oriented around Chinakhov and Ceulemans could get things going.

MTL? tight cap constraints? they've got money and barring stupid spending this summer will still have some for a while

Doesn’t fit the timeline especially with the acquisition cost.
Also targeting wingers is strange as of now with the wingers we have. Unless they are young, like svech it doesn’t make sense.
Don’t really want to move chinakhov either tbh. Of all the Russians he has the highest upside. I see him as a potential buch tbh. Just needs to stay healthy.

Fair, thanks. Of all the younger wingers that are possibly available, I think Columbus should put together a big package for Brady T.

I would agree with that. Brady t would be awesome here and I think we have the assets to pull it off.

Carolina. There's not enough here, and you don't have the assets Carolina would want for Svech

There's arguments against for both sides but it's most concerning for Carolina and the issues they'd been having with getting regular goal scoring; while adding someone like Chinakhov would probably be welcome, KJ is too playmakery, the 2024 1st doesn't bring someone fast enough for a win-now team, and giving up Svech to make it happen arguably makes the team worse instead of better.

And for Columbus, Svechnikov is awesome but we've got a lot of quality wingers in a similar vein already we're kind of shuffling around, so while it does technically consolidate assets it doesn't do a very effective job of team buliding in the process. And trading multiple wingers for one big one is going to be a difficult deal to pull off; I'd rather see if there's any blueline patches we can make that way as the odds seem somewhat better of finding a market opportunity there.
