Habs have a ton of D prospects, not sure they’re the right fit for Hronek, I’d imagine he ends up back in Vancouver, as he’s a good fit with Hughes

Absolutely a good deal in MTLs pov. The only thing I'll say is I believe (Although I could be wrong) Hronek isn't really an interest for MTL with Mailloux and Rein trending towards the right direction. I think it's just a Cap Friendly Idea that kinda blew up

Sorry I seriously doubt that Filip Hronek has long term interest on one of the worst teams in the NHL.

And Matt Roy is getting more than 5 x $5,000,000 and I sure as heck don't see him signing in Vancouver.

between the fact that we're retaining on Dvorak, moving out both barron and xhekaj, AND trading a likely top-10 pick next year... i'd say Montreal looks elsewhere

Let me guess, Roy and every other notable player doesn't want to play in Canada and will take a discount to play for the up and coming Wings team......the wings team that is mediocre and not trending upwards but spinning their wheels.

That 1st will probably be the Florida 1st so it’s likely going to be a late 1st

I wouldn’t trade Hronek for that. Dvorak is worse than Suter and is nearly double the cap hit even with the retention. Barron I do like but he becomes waiver eligible next year and hasn’t been able to fully lock down an NHL spot. Xhekaj is pretty meh, won’t be more than a bottom pair guy for us. And the 1st will likely be late. If you combined Barron/Xhekaj/Dvorak into one better singular piece I’d be more interested

FLA needs to miss the playoffs for it to be top 10. But if they do, then its probably a top 5 pick

Well I’ll have you know that Roy’s 7th cousin’s dog’s aunt was adopted by a family in Michigan, so Roy is pretty much confirmed to sign with the Red Wings

That guy I was replying to seemingly hates Canada. According to him, no one wants to play in Canada.

Yeah no American player will ever sign in Canada according to him (just ignore Matthews, Miller, Caufield, B Tkachuk, Boeser, Demko, Hellebuyck, etc)

It could, MTL could trigger a trade for Hronek if they decided to compete next year, but I doubt they do

If it’s secondary assets like this and freeing up some forward spots for the youngsters in this fashion they absolutely should

If the trade included our "spare parts" like Barron, Harris, ect, and a couple of alright picks (late 1sts and 2nds), then ya, we should definitely consider it, but I do think it would require a premium asset, which may not be in the best interest looking at our timeline.

The Red Wings have the second longest active playoff drought. Pretty mediocre

91 points while on a shooting bender* ask buffalo how that carried over for them this season. It doesn't.

I like the idea of Guhle-Hronek but Hughes already said that they weren't going to block Reinbacher and Mailloux from earning roster spots next year. I think they feel like both could be ready for top 4 minutes at some point next season

Why wouldn't the Canucks just keep Hronek instead of overpaying Roy, Borssoit, Zadorov, Blueberry and Duhaime? You can easily find cheaper options for those depth guys especially 3 mil for a backup goalie

Dvorak?? The rest of the "package" does not warrant the Canucks taking him. Not happening.
