Doesn’t work for Seattle. Don’t want to trade McCann, and we were pretty bad when Dunn got injured so we can’t afford to lose him, like we lost 2/3 of the games after that and went from still having a shot at the playoffs with a favorable schedule to the 8th overall pick

          Seattle and Tampa say no.

Vegas and Vancouver would need to move some more cap out.

          Washington one has potential.

          Winnipeg probably says no.

Canucks aren't giving two of their top 4 D men. Canucks are not a team that would or could be interested. Frankly, I think Marner will have a limited pool of teams that will be interested and given the price tag, you may be surprised at the limited return. Not saying it will be a third or anything like that, but likely a good player, a good prospect and a high draft pick.

Mariner doesn't get you Sergachev 1 for 1 nevermind adding Paul. I'm going to quote the late great Fred Gwynne as Judge Chamberlain Haller from My Cousin Vinny "Are you on drugs?" Seriously you expect a top pairing defenseman signed to a really nice deal for 7 years and a very good middle 6 foward signed at a nice price 5 more years for 1 year of Marner? You're higher than a satellite. Utterly delusional.

Setting aside the trade protection involved the Jets wouldn't do that.

Everyone with the slightest exception of Washington laughs hysterically in Trelivings face.

You lose Washington at McMichael probably. The center depth of the organization is very thin and he took great steps last season so the organization is super high on him. They're also really high on Fehervary, so this might be a tough sell

I mean value wise, yea. That's two good, young pieces that the Caps will need in the coming years though. And together they will cost much less than whatever Marner gets on his next deal

That Seattle trade is laughably bad for the Kraken.

I actually think you lose Caps (or maybe just me) at Fehervary
While I agree with the center depth being very thin, McM (imo) is at best a two-way 3c (similar to Eller). And yes cheap, but I have never been a big fan of him (unlike most Caps fans). If you get rid of McM, you REALLY need to address the center depth, but I think as is right now, the Caps need to address the center depth anyways (Strome is a solid 2c, McM is a fine 3c, Lappy I believe can play that 3c role, and Dowd is a great 4c).
