Getting rid of Scheifele
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Sure. Take him out of the trade.
Bruins still say no. Start managing your expectations now. The Jets aren’t getting a teams top prospect and a first.</div></div>
Exactly, people seem to overestimate the return Scheifele can get back. And I'm a Jets fan

How do we feel about the first round matchup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>I’m not. You’re confusing the english language with something else. Just google it dude. There are online dictionaries. Or just sound it out. Probability….probable…hey we found a root word.
I’m guessing maybe you heard this in some intro to stats class or something like that, but missed the day on dependent and independent events, or mutually exclusive events, compound events, even complementary events.
What you think you’re doing is saying “flipping a coin has two events, heads or tails. 50:50. Same with a hockey series.” A coin flip is what is known in statistics as a “simple event.”
What you’re actually doing is saying (and this is a very hyperbolic example for effect): “If a feather and a pebble are dropped from a height of 10,000 feet, there is an equal probability that the feather or rock will hit the ground first. Two outcomes, one event. 50:50. I know gravity and aerodynamics don’t agree here, but maybe a bird is flying by at the exact same time and the rock lands on the birds back and is carried away.”
To which someone that understands simple events vs the other types of events listed would say, “uhhh, okay, go through the probabilities of that bird flying by at that exact time.”</div></div>
well you are defintly wrong in the part you assumes things about me... and im not really sure about the relevance about what you are saying about that first part with sounding it out.
but i see the rest of your points. I feel i did not use the world probablity correctly and had aifferent idea (a simplified one) about its meaning. you just won an online argument!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>I love how this guy is just responding to english posts in french.
There aren’t any rumors.</div></div>
Unless you want to classify Friedman saying if for whatever reason the jets couldn’t sign Dubois he’s likely traded, yeah there’s no rumour. He was just stating the obvious and people like always are blowing it out of proportion.
Also yes, the French replies are quite funny.

Blockbuster Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Can’t really see why tampa is giving up a top four d on a good contract for futures.</div></div>
I would be shocked it they move him at all but to answer the question it would be for 2young NHL ready assets that have top 4d upside and top6 forward upside while also recouping some picks to keep the prospect pipeline going/to be used in future trades. And it would be proactive moving sergachev before having to give him a big raise the following offseason.
If I'm being honest though I think sergachev will be in Tampa for a looonnnggg time.

Price and Weber Retire
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>The description makes it sound like you think they’re retiring, rather than going on LTIR.
0% chance that happens. I think that would cost Price 31.25M, and Weber, 6M. They aren’t doing that. There is a chance that neither play again and spend the next four years on LTIR, but LTIR doesn’t exactly equate to “free cap space.” It can be used, so it is very useful, but it isn’t exactly the same.</div></div>
LTIRetirement will also not work for the Habs with both or even just Price. Since you can only be over the cap by 10% in the offseason (8.25 this year) you would have a team cap of about 72 million not 82.5 million if both wound up on LTIR. And that is before accounting for any bonuses from this year that will roll over.

Not sure if the Schneider trade is the best comparable here. While obviously Schneider was great, he wasn’t a fully proven starter at the time, while Hellebuyck is a Vezina winner and multiple time all star

Another whiner. Don’t we have enough already?
I said all along they would make 1 big move as that’s all they had the assets for unless it was stripped bare.
They got the best LD on the market. Extended him. Added a depth physical RD with size. Did not give away the future for rentals.
Signed Debrusk to get rid of the QO to make him easier to move in the off-season.
Did not cripple the cap next year.
Oh and dumped Moore.
Damn good deadline.
Yet Wendy Whiner here….🙄
