<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>Its almost like there's this magical tool that GM's have at their disposal in Retained Salary
Its pretty complex but essentially a General Manager can Retain up to 50% Salary on Dvoraks final year of his 4.45m bringing it to 2.225m
At which point and again this is all clearly too complex to consider Common Knowledge, But out GM can then pay a 4th round pick for another team to RS 50% again bringing it to 1.125m
Now follow me on this a Faceoff Center if Healthy even in a Career Worst year like Staal or Plekanec or Hanzal ,ext
Teams will still pay a decent package with more quantity then Quality as Faceoff Centers come TDL are always first off the board
Even if MTL give up a 4th to RS they'd be giving up about 40% of the average return those 3 had with a similar career average in Faceoff Stats but Dvorak didnt struggle nearly as bad as they did in those final years before they eventually retired. Dvorak is overpaid and kinda a mediocre 3rd line Center but his ability to take bulk faceoffs will see him continue to get signed even as he ages .
Just look at Glendenning he's constantly finding new homes even as he ages because he's so dominant in the Faceoff Circle.
But yeah i think gambling on Dvorak is worth it as worst case he finishes his season on LTIR and the cap hit aint our problem</div></div>
Chicago has no use for him so they will want assets to take him on...thus he's a dump

First two rounds with explanations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>That family sure can breed elite defensive D men can’t they lol.
I like the idea of Levshunov but personally I really think Chicago has to consider giving Bedard a nasty Elite shot on his wing! Think Eiserman could be a 50 goal scorer on Bedards wing, it could also be Demidov if Chicago isn’t worried about the Russian factor. Sharks Russian scouting is in turmoil so I see them shying away from Russians at least in the first 2 rounds unless a stud falls and opting for Levshunov since he fills a massive need (if they can’t get Celebrini obviously).</div></div>
I have been one of the few people that thinks Eiserman would be deadly next to Bedard. i do agree that Chicago really needs help at forward. Yes, they need a future #1RHD guy as well, but they have multiple holes in their top 6 upfront. Celebrini, Demidov, Lindstrom and Eiserman should be the top 4 IMO for Chicago to target.

First two rounds with explanations
Chicago is stacked with left handed dmen. Vlasic, who's a 22 year rookie, just got rated as the 2nd best defensive player in the D zone in the entire NHL including veterans and rookies. As a rookie, he's playing on the first line, facing the toughest assignments, and easily the best defender on the team. Behind him is the youngest D man in the NHL with Korchinski. Beyond that the Hawks are stacked with 3rd line options of young players/prospects.
That said, drafting Dickinson would be incredibly miscalculated. Where's he going to slot? To assume he will be better than Vlasic would be monumental given Vlasic's performance. As such, Hawks will go Levshunov or forwards 100%.

I doubt Jiricek is above Korchinski as of now. Obviously a lot can change, but I would think Korchinski has shown more ability at a pro level this season than Jiricek.

First 2 goal night as a habs tonight
First time he's looked healthy since we got him
TBH we might just invest in him like we did Armia who now hit a career high for Goals trying to chase down his career high in points after starting in the AHL
Post Surgery Armia took some time but adjusted well in his return while Dvo came back early and looked like a different player straight out the gate.
That said we did just sign Florian Xhekaj to a ELC then to a AHL PTO
If he makes the AHL team on their playoff run he could be skipping his final year in Junior
Given the year he's had i wouldnt count him out but we can play him on Dvo's wing until the TDL so Flo gets some Faceoff Experience.
Either way Dvo like Armia is being associated with their past Baggage.
Both are looking healthy for once and selling early after waiting all these years wouldnt be smart
I mean Hughes turned Kulak into Hutson lets not forget so being patient could pay off big for us long term
Anderson on the other hand is a player we might pay to move out if the cost isnt too high
We could RS and make moves but who wants to RS that long anyways ?
Whats the Conservative estimate on CHI taking Anderson ?</div></div>
Dvorak is a dump. He can't stay healthy....he's a dump. If Montreal wants to invest in him, then take the risk and do so and hope he's healthy by the trade deadline and putting up numbers to support his almost $5M cap hit; otherwise he's a dump until that point.

Levshunov, Demidov, Lindstrom or Eiserman. Don't think Eiserman is going to fall that low and he would be deadly next to Bedard

In that case it may be:

- CBJ - Silayev</div></div>
I wouldn't be surprised to see Lindstrom on their draft board either.

Hawks don't need LHD guys. Alex Vlasic, at 22 years old in his first season, is playing top line against the toughest competition in the league and ranked in the top 3 players in the league defensively per advanced stats rankings....he's an absolute stud.
Kevin Korchinski, at 19 years old, is the youngest defender in the league and playing right behind Alex and huge upside as a #6 pick.
Hawks have at least 3 prospects ready to fill the 3rd line.
Zero need for the Hawk to draft a LHD. The Hawks 110% can use a RHD or forwards in the top 6

Offseason ideas
The Hawks have Alex Vlasic as a rookie who's by far been the best defensive player on the team, better than Korchinski (22 years old vs. 19 years old), but also ranks top 3 this season in the entire NHL in the defensive zone. The guy is a stud and playing first line on the left hand side.
Chabot would literally be behind Vlasic and the Hawks have plenty of young defensive players and prospects in the system on the left anyway so no need for a 2nd liner. Also, let's pretend the hawks didn't have Vlasic, a rebuilding team is not giving up Reichel and a 1st for Chabot

definitely having 2 players in greatest 100 of all time helps that, not to mention that you were the 1st team to circumvent lmao
also we have way greater chance to win this season than you will ever have, have fun at the bottom, celebrate Celebrini</div></div>
<strong>"we have a way greater chance to win this season than you will ever have"</strong>; actually, your team isn't even close to the dynasty the Hawks were last decade...that's just the truth. No way does your team stack up to Kane, Toews, Keith, Hossa, Seabrook, Crawford, Panarin, Teravainen, Shaw, Hjalmarrson...not even close
And you're sorely mistaken in the future when you look at the amount of cap space, prospects and young players in the system, that Chicago won't be a force in another couple seasons. Further, I have no problem tanking for a 3 to 4 seasons after the dynasty we enjoyed last decade.
Try again

The best team last decade with 3 cups and arguably the best team in the cap era not to mention a total of 6 in team history and 13 finals appearances. That profile pic isn't from the last cup they won either! :)
Meanwhile Carolina has only experienced ONE cup and 2 finals appearances.
The difference in Chicago is much more valuable team because of a much larger fan base and money gives Chicago a huge leg up over Carolina. Chicago will be fine it's Carolina who may never see another one.
Now keep digging for a better comment. LMAO

The Habs dumped Petry, Hoffman, Pitlick and Edmundson for positive value last Summer. Hughes is very good at this thing called GM'ing. He can definitely get value for a faceoff center with penlaty killing prowess. The only one dreaming is YOU, thinking he cant do it with Dvorak on a site that is hypothetical, no less.
Now the Habs can sell him at the 2025 TDL for positive value as he has intangibles teams covet..penalty killing, size, playoff pedigree.
All this could be true of Dvorak at little risk with a year term but I realize 95% of players not on the Hawks are cap dumps yet Dickinson, Tyler Johnson and Beauvilier, somehow, were picked up with the same thinking. You arent on the Hawks management team and they have a history and need for salary. Stay mad.</div></div>

Plus, he is a vet that will add leadership to a young team and is only on a 1 year contract. I am fine if you balance out his worth with some pick swaps.</div></div>
I'm not sure he has much value at the TDL at a $2.5M cap hit. 43 pts certainly doesn't justify $5M so that is at the cost of the Pens to move him at $5M for 43 points regardless of what the other team's intentions are.
Also, Hawks have leadership, that's not an issue.
