<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EatMyScoobySnack</b></div><div>For sure Monahan don't have the first line center man potential as before with all the injury he lost it but he could give good service on the second line and he's presently the best center available and there around few team who would want to add center due to injury or weakness. There about 1 months before deadline and it will be the cat and mouse game starting now.

The Lindholm trade set the pace and would see team that want to compete against this move try to get what they see as an upgrade. If there 3 to 5 team on the same player yeah there could be an overpayment as the contrary can be also be say. For exemple because Monahan is currently the best center Available Hughes could probably try to get more for him but if team decided to not pay this price and look other way for exemple Henrique or Blackwell as remplacement for cheaper then Montreal won't have anything good for him.

Other that could happen is that as Hughes gives is world that he will trade Monahan to an good playoff destination to have better reputation in the league as good gm that think about is player, he could end with less then what we fan think.

For Savard, he's a good veterans guys who have alot of experience in playoff and have already be important for an conquest to an cup with TB. What I think he would feltch is probably around what he already being trade to TB when he was at Colombus or a bit less as he have age since. With retention there maybe an market around an second round and an third round pick or two second round but that would probably be after that all the available D-man have being already trade away.

Tampa Bay could be an possible destination for Savard as he's being known there and know the team work and play.</div></div>

What I forgot to say is that this waiting game is an double edged sword that could win alot or lost everything. If Monahan stay healthy he will get an good return but if he's injury before being traded he would get nothing and would probably be hard pressed to get an contract next year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD25</b></div><div>Monahan might be worth a first, but he does not have half the first-line-center potential that Lindholm has in the eyes of GMs. They see this year as a negative anomaly for him, and a positive anomaly for Monahan. Given that Lambert is at 1ppg in his first full year in the AHL, he's probably worth more than a potentially 28th-to-32nd overall pick, and he'd be closer to contributing in the NHL. One on one against Monahan, I'd prefer this to (e.g.) the Jets first pick and some second tier prospect (we have too many of those already).

In short, I see the above as Monahan&lt;-&gt;Lambert, which is decent in light of the Lindholm trade, and then the Jets 1rst for Savard with retention. I don't think WIN would pay that for Savard, even retained.</div></div>
