Crosby To MTL
Crosby is one of the player in the league which would never be traded. He is draft by the team and will end with the team. At is age I don't think there team who will want to pay is real value in asset to get 2 to 4 years of Crosby. Is best value is to be with Pittsburgh.
Could it be cool to have the Crosby type of player coming in Montreal as they would become competitive and bring talent and experience, yeah but not gonna happen.

Money wise this don't work for Avs. value wise again not working for Avs. Armia value is low I wouldn't be surprised to se him goes for an fifth or fourth round pick max and while doing Evans for Johansson to help Colorado reduce there salary cap could be an idea, the trade would be that costly to do.

Zegras is more of an Winger right now then an center and if he want to play top 6 with Montreal he would still need to be winger. There no way he pass over Suzuki or Dach. Not sure about Newhook as third center but if you go get an player like Zegras is because he will play on your top 6 at least.

I can get the fact that Colorado wanted backup experience to support there goaltender but what is valuable for them here ?
Johansson don't work as he should be (2c) and Evans would probably be doing the same job at cheaper deal but not sure that is interesting for them. If Monahan was not trade to Jets I would have say that an trade for him swap would be better.
Monahan 50% and Allen to get Johansson + first round pick.
Colorado would have received better center and get there backup they want and for Montreal you turn the third goalie problem into an center equilibrium ( -1 center and + 1 center) in the roster. Evans would still be your third Center and you add Gignac as your fourth one. This way there less stressed on both Suzuki/Evans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>philbert5309</b></div><div>Dallas declines. Stankoven is their top prospect, and they're counting on him being a top, cheap contributor in the future as guys like Pavelski, Duchene, Seguin, and Benn move on. You'd have to blow them away on an offer to get him. I could see Dallas trading a 1st and a decent prospect, but a 1st and a 3rd and their top prospect? Not going to happen.
Matheson would be a great add, but Nill doesn't spend big at the TDL. Since he took over in 2013, he's pretty much only added depth at the TDL. His big trades have been in the offseason.
I'm also confused as to why Ylonen is included in this trade.</div></div>
I can see Dallas using Maverick Bourque as trade bait before stankoven as they like him really well. So your right there won't be an Stankoven trade.
Also Dallas don't have alot of cap space, less then 2m at deadline which will be hard to fit any big contract except if an bad contract going out at same time.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DavidNola985</b></div><div>My guess is Ryan Johanson would have to be moved out... He would be a decent trade piece for someone in off season when he will be an expiring contract.. He really hasn't been that bad here, just doesn't have the speed to keep up with the wingers the Avs have so it's not a good fit.... Put him with two slower wingers and he would be solid. He has been good on PP..</div></div>
That what I also think on any Allen trade Montreal will probably need to take back an bad contract or/and add retention.
Maybe you right an any trade between both team start with Allen vs Johansson to satisfy the cap salary and there meat going around.
Edit: also with Sakic Saying he have pay to much for Lekhonen ( didn't want to loose Barron) maybe he will be more careful to do business with Kent Hughes.

Where did you see Allen to Arizona ?? This tread is about Carcone versus Primeau. In case your talking about what I have post, I was saying in general that it's Allen who should go not necessarily to Arizona.
But as we could talk about it, if vejmelka is really on the market coyotes could get an decent return for him at deadline from team who need upgrade goaltender. They could eat Allen contract as you talk to 1 get an backup NHL and the money will only help them stay out of the salary floor.

Your title say it all ! Chicago is rebuilding and while good veterans is really important in this moment, the Blackhawks already have good one in Foligno, Tyler Johnson and Blackwell. Wouldn't surprise that Johnson resign with them.

help for each team
It's hard to evaluate Primeau because in the last 4 or 5 years he didn't play that much game. We talk about less then 200 professional game and an goaltender need to play alot to get experience and reach is peak. Is peak is probably begins around the age of 25 or 26 minimum until 30 to 32 years old.
So to say he won't contribute to Montreal goaltender situation is hard. The one who do not fit right now is Jake Allen but he's also the one with no more value.
One guys to compare with Primeau is Charlie Lindgren , didn't play alot of game didn't fit with Montreal but have an decent season and stats with Washington even if the team is not superbe right now.
So in theory yeah this trade would help Montreal to break the third party goaltender and add center depth but I'm not sure this is valuable for Arizona and like I say I would try to keep Primeau give him more time and just send Allen out or to AHL.

Like I say could be wrong about it but I'm sure I have read that Stamkos want to be pay at it right value but lightning gm wasn't fan to pay big money at the moment. Could also be part of the negotiation to try get the man accept an friendly team deal.
Stamkos is part of the lightning dinasty and would be sad if he's not retiring as members of the team at the end of is career.

Player and gm are not on the same page for the money wise and could end with Stamkos not returning. I could also be wrong on this and he sign with the team at the end of the season/playoff.

Alex Newhook won't be trade for anyone. Kent Hughes have made an trade for him specifically this summer and won't move him out after only few month. Each move he do is to improve is reputation and relationships with other gm/player not to hurt it.

Why would Montreal use is last retention slot and don't even go at full price ?? If retain from Savard they will do it at 50% and this would be 1.750m if I'm right for Savard normally.
Add the fact that half the season is gone which mean half of is salary is also gone. For this season Savard would be pretty low cost (maybe 900k) and the next season at 1.750m that cheap deal and they could also use him or trade him for good asset management after that.

Could you really say that the guys would be selected as the third round with is stats of this year ? Hunter have alot to learn in defense but is offense is top notch. One of the reason Canucks have move him is that they already have an excellent (Hughes) puck moving d-men.
Like I say, I would have preferred an young prospect that you know over the first round pick you don't know but I'm happy non the less of the good asset management that have happened.
Could Montreal have more, yeah but at some time Hughes didn't want to wait at deadline to acquire a bit more over the chance of injury.

Hey we are the French Habs fans we supposed to be the non intelligent part of this site Web so how should be have reason when arguing with someone. We don't know what is hockey and Habs player should be trash and no value at all.
Edit: lets see if what I have written was offensive enough to be erased.
Contrary to some person here who was 100% against the idea, Monahan have being trade to Jets like it was call at numerous times for an first round pick + an third conditional if Jets win the cup.
In the end Monahan case give Montreal two first round pick, an possible third round pick and valuable time with the young guys to help them growth up.
I would have preferred that Montreal get an forward prospect before and first but this better then nothing.
So I was again right in saying that Lindholm trade was probably an dominoes trade which will make the market move. Jets are directly in competition with Canucks and have probably want to replicate to the upgrade done.
Now the question is which other team will want to move out ?! Avalanche, Oiler, Vegas or Stars maybe ??

TB will have around 8m available at deadline and if Montreal do retention at 50% this is 1.750m which is not that much. And even if this present group is good at the moment there could still use depth for playoff in case of other injury.

There about 1 months before deadline and it will be the cat and mouse game starting now.
The Lindholm trade set the pace and would see team that want to compete against this move try to get what they see as an upgrade. If there 3 to 5 team on the same player yeah there could be an overpayment as the contrary can be also be say. For exemple because Monahan is currently the best center Available Hughes could probably try to get more for him but if team decided to not pay this price and look other way for exemple Henrique or Blackwell as remplacement for cheaper then Montreal won't have anything good for him.
Other that could happen is that as Hughes gives is world that he will trade Monahan to an good playoff destination to have better reputation in the league as good gm that think about is player, he could end with less then what we fan think.
For Savard, he's a good veterans guys who have alot of experience in playoff and have already be important for an conquest to an cup with TB. What I think he would feltch is probably around what he already being trade to TB when he was at Colombus or a bit less as he have age since. With retention there maybe an market around an second round and an third round pick or two second round but that would probably be after that all the available D-man have being already trade away.
Tampa Bay could be an possible destination for Savard as he's being known there and know the team work and play.</div></div>
What I forgot to say is that this waiting game is an double edged sword that could win alot or lost everything. If Monahan stay healthy he will get an good return but if he's injury before being traded he would get nothing and would probably be hard pressed to get an contract next year.

Jets get Monahan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD25</b></div><div>Monahan might be worth a first, but he does not have half the first-line-center potential that Lindholm has in the eyes of GMs. They see this year as a negative anomaly for him, and a positive anomaly for Monahan. Given that Lambert is at 1ppg in his first full year in the AHL, he's probably worth more than a potentially 28th-to-32nd overall pick, and he'd be closer to contributing in the NHL. One on one against Monahan, I'd prefer this to (e.g.) the Jets first pick and some second tier prospect (we have too many of those already).
In short, I see the above as Monahan<->Lambert, which is decent in light of the Lindholm trade, and then the Jets 1rst for Savard with retention. I don't think WIN would pay that for Savard, even retained.</div></div>
For sure Monahan don't have the first line center man potential as before with all the injury he lost it but he could give good service on the second line and he's presently the best center available and there around few team who would want to add center due to injury or weakness. A 1rst from (e.g.) Boston or Colorado is potentially worth much less than a first from NYR given the current rankings and the odds of their clinching their respective conference.
And maybe Perreault was a 23rd overall pick, but his value has increased since then. Not sure he'd fall to 23rd if we redid the 2023 draft with today's information.
In short, in the NYR were bold enough to give us Perrault 1:1 against Monahan, I'm pretty sure Hughes would say yes... unless someone else seems even more desperate ;)
In a trade with NYR, I'd be less surprised to see a package built around Kakko then around Perreault.</div></div>
There still one month before the deadline so there will be bidding war over the few center available. There not alot of them so would not be surprised if each center be sold for first round + prospect B/A.

TB for the cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Justafan79</b></div><div>Utterly delusional overpay TB doesn't consider that. You aren't getting their 2 best foward prospects and best draft capital for spare parts. TB coaching and management likes Raddysh way more than most on here. He was second in TOI in the playoffs last year just behind Sergachev.
Perbix has played extremely well since about the 10 game mark this year. Thompsons played well in Cuse and his 1 NHL game, Crozier also on the right has looked good in his limited time up . TB also can't take on that much salary. Absolutely delusional expectations from TB</div></div>
With all the injury right now they would probably like to have someone as Savard who is a well known guys in town who know the player and the TB gameplay style as he's an previous member of the cup team. So adding Savard to TB roster wouldn't be that farfetch.
The price would probably be something like Ethan Gauthier and an small pick between 3 to 7 depend if there retention on is salary.
TB just don't need Evans and if they really want to add one center depth for playoff they could probably be call flames for Coleman and pay them the first round pick + for it who will be better option.
