Arizona sees your offer and laughs and laughs and laughs before declining it and hanging up on you. Ghost stinks. Worst Armchair team I've ever seen.

Condition 2: Andrew Ladd has not retired. He is still considered an active NHL player at this moment. The league year (and his current contract) expire on June 30th; if Andrew Ladd does not formally file retirement papers with the league before then, then the second condition will have been met as well. Hell, the way that condition is worded makes me think he could file retirement papers during the first round of the playoffs and it still would be met.</div></div>
Regular season, not league year.

Incorrect. https://www.capfriendly.com/trades/6466?twitter_img=16268169082
**Conditions: The pick is transferred to Arizona if Ladd:
1. Does not play in any professional games in 2022-23 while under his current contract,
AND
2. Does not retire prior to the conclusion of the 2022-23 regular season

The pick only transfers to Arizona if Ladd plays 0 games AND retires before the end of this season.

He's going to need hip surgery. Trading for Kane would be a bad idea for anyone right now.

Isles could've had Kubalik for just cash this past offseason and signed him to the same deal Yzerman did and they passed. Don't see why they'd have changed their mind 6 months later.

Bailey is absolutely not a cap dump. Beauvillier is 25 and paid just where he needs to be. Thanks for playing, though. Go do some reading.

Islanders year 2 of 3
I am undoubtedly going to be in the minority on this and probably made fun of to some extent but Josh Bailey gets a seriously bad rap. Is he as good as his draft status? Of course not. Did the Islanders grossly mismanage him at the start of his career? Absolutely. But sometimes players take longer to develop; player development isn't linear. And because he's a lead by example, quieter dude that doesn't show a ton of emotion people RAIL on him and most of it is unwarranted. Has he had the best year? No. But he's not terrible. He's exactly what Barry Trotz wants him to be: reliable, defensively responsible and a passer. Josh Bailey is probably the second-best passer on the team behind Barzal. He's best suited as a third-line winger that can move up to the second line when necessary; so that's to say he's a great 3rd line winger and a fine/good enough second-line winger. He kills penalties and is a 200-foot player. I don't think Bailey is going to get traded in the offseason; he's valuable to Trotz.
Debate away...

Arizona's not going to accept that for Chychrun. I think it's going to take something like Beau, Salo/Bolduc and Raty/Holmstrom plus a 1st and probably 3rd.

Yeah but you've made it a 3-year retool and this core is already 30+ or right up on 30 years old. It would make absolutely no sense whatsoever to do this.

My first CapFriendly Team
Josh Bailey will play the rest of his career for the Islanders; I'm not sure why everyone is so quick to trade him or, in this case, let him go to Seattle.
Arizona will never accept that deal and the Isles will keep Clutterbuck, especially if they can keep Cizikas.
Ladd is virtually untradeable. He's going to be buried for another 2 years but it is fun to come up with workable scenarios to deal him. This one ain't it though.
Solid first shot though!

Henrique
I actually really like this idea. Lou would have no problem betting on Henrique and he can still contribute plenty (obviously Ladd can’t). Bellows needs a fresh start. And then it also allows the isles to free up space in the expansion draft thru a different contract (my money is on the Isles figuring out a way to get Eberle to Seattle).

Agree. That Laine trade is trash.... Gonna have to be AT LEAST Wahlstrom and a D-man plus a top draft pick (I'm an Isles fan).

Isles would be making a big mistake letting Cizikas walk. I think they convince Seattle to take Eberle (also think that's the best move).

I think as others may have said already: the Wild are on the hook for massive recapture penalties no matter what happens to him or where he goes. They signed the contract, it’s their problem no matter what. The isles would be on the hook for very very minimal recapture penalties.

Interesting idea with the deals for the RFAs. Think that’s a solid idea too, don’t break the bank now until the new NHL TV deal kicks in and then the salary cap keeps going up. Will be a bit easier to pay them more down the road.
