Definitely need to make a push
John Gibson's last 3 seasons combined (142 GP):
.904 SV%
3.07 GAA
-19.1 GSAA
And before you say that Anaheim was a bad team, here are his backup's numbers in those 3 season:
2019-20: .908 SV%, 3.05 GAA, -2.1 GSAA (combined Ryan Miller's 20 starts and Anthony Stolarz's 1 start)
2020-21: .882 SV%, 3.51 GAA, -11.2 GSAA (Ryan Miller's 14 starts)
.926 SV%, 2.20 GAA, 4.2 GSAA (Anthony Stolarz's 7 starts)
2021-22: .916 SV%, 2.71 GAA, 8.2 GSAA (combining Stolarz's 23 starts with Luka Dostal's 3 starts)
So with the exception of 40 year old Ryan Miller, Gibson's numbers have been equal to or worse than his backup's - so it's hard for me to even say "well he's putting up bad numbers on a bad team" when the guys starting 1/3 of the games every year do better than he does.
It's just a biggggg contract to take on and give up as many assets as you have Toronto giving up here for something that is far from a sure thing.

Blockbuster amp Mortgage the Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Itchy22</b></div><div>So if you are the GM of ANA, what is your counter offer?</div></div>
Well, if you assume that he's going to give you at least 4 (out of 5) years of starting goaltending, then it would be at least Knies, Sandin and your 2022 first. Of course, half of your fellow Toronto fans don't think he's worth Mrazek and a third.
Gibson fits our window perfectly. When we're ready to move from pretender to contender in Year 3 of his contract, he should be an effective goalie who could take us a couple of rounds into the playoffs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Itchy22</b></div><div>what does Greenway's contract look like? considering flat cap essentially for 3 years, would he come in under $3.0m x 3? I have seen models that have him north of 4, but I beleive they assume a long term deal. It would be great to not have to always go back to looking at Josh Anderson @$2.1-2.3m lol</div></div>
Greenway had 28 points this season. Kapenan had 44 points to earn 3.2mill and Heinen of Anaheim had 34 points to earn 2.8mill. Based on these Greenway could do a 2.5 for 3 year deal or like tanev if we go long term for more money 3.5 for 6 years

I could see CHI as a destination if the Leafs retain 1-2 million. He is a proven starting goalie and at that price he’s be worth 2 2nd rounders at least. Can’t see a first being offered though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Itchy22</b></div><div>Why Elvis the one to move?</div></div>
He’s the bigger contract and Korpisalo has taken the net this year. Elvis had like 6 good weeks when Korpisalo was hurt. Korpisalo won Columbus first 19 games and has looked great in the playoffs. I also said I wouldn’t move either of them, but if one must be traded I think Elvis is the one traded.

Yep.
Even say for those 3 RFAs for three payers it's 2.5M over, Tamp still has to clear out $10 M and needing at least around $1M for every replacement player and minimal cap space.

he's likely using EW where Serg is listed at 6.5x8 and Cirelli at 5.812x6. Due to the cap crunch and no arbitration rights, neither will be correct
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Itchy22</b></div><div>It could be safe to assume that Cirelli & Sergachev will come in around $9.5m-$10m combined on the cap on 3 year bridge deals, no? I would think TBAY has a $10m cap issue that could be solved by moving 2 players. Problem is Killorn is the only one that doesn't have an NTC...</div></div>
Johnson's NTC becomes modified next year, if he doesnt want to end up on in somewhere randomly he will likely choose a couple locations he's willing to waive to this off season.

How tf does Sergachev warrent a 6.5m contract with only 3 years, I get an 8 year extension but he is not better than McAvoy who got 4.9x3. Same thing with Cirelli, with only 3 years he is not making above 4.5M

I am in the minority of Leaf fans but I still stand by my ideal of hard pass on Petry or any other aging defenceman that costs a 1st and won't be resigned. The Leafs defence is going to be much improved with a full training camp and season under Keefe. No need to waste assets.

I've had all those thoughts as well, I'm just looking for opinions from Flames fans on this particular trade for a specific reason.
