It's actually the either 7 accrued seasons or 27 years of age whichever comes first. So you could sit him 2 seasons at most.
Even then if he felt like WPG were going in that direction he could just take his QO or go to arbitration to ensure he hits UFA in summer 2024.
Edit: looks like someone beat me to it.

Oh I was just poking fun. It’s amazing how so many people think one fan speaks for the majority lol.
Also, I think Larkin is exactly what he is, a .500 team 1C. Unless you have a 1a/1b (Oliver Moore? / Marco Kasper hopefully?) with a bunch of wing depth that can carry, he is better suited as a championship team 2C (upper echelon 2C but still).

It's an interesting trade, but the Sharks don't need to move Vlasic.
Also, that 2024 pick is likely to be a good one. We suck.

Your not asking a lot to take on such a large cap dump so to be honest I don’t see MTL doing this, but at the same time sharks aren’t trying to compete so his deal isn’t hurting us. So I am assuming Vlasic ends up retiring as a shark or gets bought out in 24 or 25.

In logically terms they should be rebuilding, but management doesn’t want to and they’re aiming for playoffs. Kovacevic and Ylonen are both roster players, and they get a draft pick + shed $6.65M of cap space which they desperately need... that's a no brainer for the Canucks.

Just A Bit Outside The Box
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IDKtbh</b></div><div>I hate people like you that make comments like “you’re comparing this player to that player” as if I’m comparing him the way only your little brain can process.
The comparison is in terms of their value. I’m not saying McDavid is worth Seider or vice versa. I am saying you cannot trade for McDavid; he’s untouchable. Moritz Seider is also untouchable. Nick Suzuki is NOT untouchable. Do you get it?
And for the record, I don’t play video games anymore. Not that I think anything is wrong with it, NHL makes a terrific hockey game; I just don’t play it so, unfortunately your video game comment was off base bud.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>He just got 66 points because of Caufield. Suzuki overperformed every analytical stats offensively. Both of their shooting % was 16%. No way they can keep that up. Suzuki is a career 10-11% and caufield will be a career 13-14%
And the way he plays, he shouldnt even be playing Center. He plays along the boards and never occupies the middle. And hes too slow to make it up defensively. So in an ideal world, hes on the right wing anyways. And even then, he still wont be a ppg player because hes not that good at driving offence on his own. Dach and Caufield are the only ones on the roster rn that could get ppg.</div></div>
Hey! What did I say about using logic!? Poor little guy must be terrified.

There’s no doubt Suzuki is a good player but when there’s an argument to be made between who is better between he and Dylan Larkin, I think that tells us exactly where he stands comparatively to the Centers in this league. He’s good; not great.

Couldn't find anything about insured contracts in the most recent 2020 amendments... And then I gave up after skimming through 500 pages. haha. The only relevant information had to do with "workers comp". It sounds like it is determined by the laws of each individual state or province. Anything outside of workers comp seems to be elective and not a requirement. Which means any sort of salary insurance would be on a case by case basis and determined by whether it is cost effective for the club to pay the insurance premium or just pay the salary if something happens. I could absolutely be wrong. But I just couldn't find anything concrete about that. So, I am just guessing based on what I did find.

Speaking from purely my own perspective as a CHI fan. I wouldn't pass up Fantilli for that proposal. Super high on him and by the sounds of this ACGM, you are also and rightly so. He looks like a very special player who could potentially make an immediate impact.
Personally, Slaf we need to see more of and Smith needs more time to refine and not as sure fire as Fantilli. Benson looks great though the question mark will always be the size and if he can do it in the NHL. My guess is he can but its just another layer of risk as compared to Fantilli who essentially seems the least risk of all mentioned.
