Not a fan of either team but random trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyriakos_Grizzly</b></div><div>Also: We lose Chiarot and we are the softest team in the league. Chiarot is not here to be a Elite defenseman, but we need good leaders on a young team. I think his stats can certainly be better, but the eye test...I dunno, I think he's a lot more important than the stats would indicate, and Lalonde seems to agree.</div></div>
I agree with this post. Same with Copp and Perron. Larkin mentioned how the team needs to get tougher, that they got pushed around. You don't get tougher giving up your toughest D. It's why I am ok with overpaying him as a 7th D for the last couple years...there will always be injuries. He isn't awful, but he certainly belongs on the 3rd pair.

Red Wings Draft Wish List
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyriakos_Grizzly</b></div><div>1st round: Ryan Leonard, Reinbacher or Barlow

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>Moore is top of my list too. Think he'll be gone most likely thought. I'm hoping for Leonard instead now. 18 who knows. Yager, Ritchie, Wood it's hard to say. 2nd round I like Dragicevic if he's still hanging around.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>If Moore is gone at 9, and Smith, and no big fallers...Pelikka 100% and get Barlow or Yager or Ritchie hopefully at 18. Maybe spend one of those 2nds to move up from 18. With the 2nds, Willander and Dower Nilsson, though I suspect both could be gone by then.</div></div>
One thing I think this days able the draft, other than everyone's own opinions, is that this has to be one of the hardest drafts to predict. All of those players would be really good picks and really for the first round picks any of those players would be great picks. The second round same thing, so many good players that would be really nice adds.

My Yzerman Predictions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I like Moore and I think he might be the 7th guy in that draft. Barlow and Leonard are up there too.</div></div>
Barlow and Leonard are below Moore. The only winger outside of Carlson and Mitchkov that is worth considering is Benson. If Moore is on tbe board at 9, you nab him. I almost wonder if Moore goes before Smith, to be honest. I also am certain that Pelikka will go in tbe top 8, maybe in the 3-6 range depending on who is drafting there. After Pelikka and Reinbacher, the D talent drops quite dramatically, so if you are looking for a D in your system (both righties so they are at a premium), you gotta do it early. If it comes down to Pelikka or Moore, I think Yzerman goes Moore simply because a 1b center is more valuable than a second pairing D (because Seider is 1D).
All that said, Pelikka might be ready to go in a year or two, while Moore is going to likely take 4 or so years to hit his stride. If Detroit stays at 9, one of Moore, Pelikka, or Reinbacher, or possibly (unlikely) Smith. If Detroit slides at all, hopefully Benson is still on the board at 11. There could be some surprise falling too, like Mitchkov for being unavailable for awhile or Carlson because he can't (doesnt) play center with men (LW all year in tbe SHL).

Lucas Raymond for Brett Pesce
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLLGRW</b></div><div>Not just about points. He only got those points cuz he was playing with Larkin and most of his goals were tapp in goals. He's terrible on the power play and got demoted to the second power play. He doesn't hit anybody and is soft on the puck. He should have been sent down to the AHL and scored like two goals in the last 20 games.</div></div>
Lots of great players have had sophomore slumps. Dylan Larkin also had a bad sophomore slump, 32pts, -28 +/- in 80 games
Jarome Iginla, Brian Leetch, Teemu Selanne...all great players who had terrible second seasons but had amazing hall of fame careers.
Just stop with the dump Raymond crap.

I know right! He has a ways to go but kind of nice having a 21 year old with some offensive firepower. Also nice hearing how he wasn’t thrilled that he took a dip in production. Should have a nice bounce back year with a good summer.

The Canes might have interest in Raymond, but it won’t be at the cost of Pesce.</div></div>
One is a soon to be 29 year old on an expiring deal and the other is a 21 year old. When those type of deals happen they backfire, just look at Zibanejad for Brassard

Yes to Clifton but I don't want to pay guys we have questions about. O'Reilly just worries me I'd rather spend on a younger guy like Domi or Barbashev who may not be as good as peak O'Reilly but maybe better than this version. Stolarz I could take take but not my ideal choice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyriakos_Grizzly</b></div><div>People don’t factor in the competition Reinbacher plays against. Swiss NL is as good as the AHL. Auston Matthews had a 1.28PPG, Reinbacher (D-man) 0.48PPG. And the league has gotten much better since Matthews played there.</div></div>
The Swiss NL is a step below the Swedish league. The Swiss league has certainly gotten better, but it is still an emerging league, whereas the Swedish league is about equivalent to the AHL, arguably a half step better worse. I lived near Bern for a bit, and it definitely had a bit of a run and gun feel. A lot of players were going to Switzerland for the money 5 to 10 years back, but Sweden has done the same, keeping the borderline NHL talent because they earn double the pay, often times, compared to the AHL. Switzerland relies heavily on imports where the Swedes are more mixed with a heavy Swede population.
Not a knock against the Swiss league, just the Swedish league is better. As far as Reinbacher...just doesn't scream that he is better than ASP. Both defensemen could be traps in the top 10 that only turn into top 4 D, but of the two, I feel safer with ASP becoming a 1st pairing sooner rather than later.

Would love to bring Norris home to Detroit, but i don't see Yzerman moving either Berggren or Soderblom right now.</div></div>
Over the past 2 seasons Norris has played in 74 games and missed 90 games due to shoulder injuries. I'd want to see him stay healthy for a season before giving up much to get him and that's if Ottawa even wants to trade him.
