2nd OA is a trap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>Malarkey. Absolute nonsense comparing Hughes to Bratt and Clutterbuck to Josh.
Please check Max Domi's stats for 2019. 72 points. This wont be the first time Josh gets traded for a scorer and one that just peaked. Josh also had more uncertainty that year without a contract and missing the entire season.
Already precedent set in the last 2 years.</div></div>
I mean fwiw the point difference were exactly the same between Hughes and Clutterbuck and Anderson and Bratt. 41 points - granted Hughes missed a great portion of the season.
I did check Max Domi's stats from his good year, and the year he was dealt to CBJ. 44 points. He was coming off a massive down year compared to year before and was a pending RFA. What a convenient thing to leave out.

Well, that certainly complicates things.

Yes because we are absolutely going to give up our first to dump Zucker. Nice logic here, Hextall probably probably picks up the phone and blocks the number.

Yeah no. Zucker is a good player when healthy. I will take the risk of his health for one year before giving up our first.
And if the team decides not to take that risk a buyout makes much more sense

Garland's good yes. But Garland + 2nd rounder is a way more realistic price than just one for one.
If anyone here is kidding themselves its you.

DeBrincat amp Kane Trade Taking Bad Contracts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pags71</b></div><div>I'm sure plenty of teams would better that Kane return, and careful, Nucks fans seem to think Myers is worth gold.</div></div>
Honestly you're probably right but I struggled with coming up with a team that would fit Kane and I got lazy so I just kept with the Rangers. And Myers is probably one of the biggest pylons I've ever seen put on skates since Jack Johnson was on the Pens

I agree this team loses in 5 vs Pitt if they had Jarry / DeSmith. Probably lose in 6 if they didnt cheap shot Crosby.

This deal doesn't jumpstart the team to the next level now
A 2nd overall trade would be in play for a player like DeBrincat, Pasta, Tkachuk
Not Victor Olofsson

To me it’s mind baffling, traded for him and everyone laughed and went from a bottom of the league defenseman to a key part of our left side. And now I’m seeing people trading him? Absolutely no reason to trade him his value to our team has gone up tremendously with what he’s done since being traded.

Read my description, where I explain all of Andersons good traits</div></div>
Your description: "Here's a heavily-biased take on the player's strengths without a hint of consideration for the acquiring team's needs or limitations. Also, his contract's term is actually a good thing that gives him MORE value and the fact that he's injury-prone doesn't matter at all. Note that any disagreement with this take means you're wrong and are undervaluing Anderson."

Josh Anderson discussion
Enjoy that contract, then. He's played 5 full NHL seasons and been above 0.5/PPG -once-.
The issue with power forwards, and why many people don't put a high value on his contract, is that they tend to enter their decline years quicker, since they bang around more often and compile more nagging injuries. Anderson just turned 28 and is signed through his age-33 season. The likelihood that he all of a sudden jumps to a perennial 25 goal/50 point guy is low - he's at the tail end of his peak years as it is already.

If we lose Letang I can almost assure you that we aren’t giving up our first to go find another 1D. If anything, that first becomes even more valuable to not trade in this case scenario.

Marchment is a dream signing in my eyes. Definitely go and get Malkin, Letang, and Rakell done first. But make Marchment your main FA you try to add. Move Zucker and let him replace him for cheaper. I love the idea of him coming to Pittsburgh
