You have your opinion and I have mine. They both would get games at NHL on call ups due to injuries. They are both 20 years old. I'd rather keep them in AHL and dominate and win before stunting the development by "learning" at the NHL level.

I would want solid vets to be able to slide up the line up if youngsters don't take the next step. JJP needs another year. Don't care what anybody says. Quinn and Krebs could also use another year to build strength in order to be solid every day players. But KA has said he wants kids to play at NHL.

Maybe Larsson likes playing with Dahlin enough at worlds that he may consider moving to a team that will win much sooner than Kraken.

using cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>You are delusional if you think that. No player is making a handshake deal for them to sign for less money than they can. If you make a $4 million offer sheet to him this off-season to retain his RFA rights the next time he is a free agent you need to match his previous contract at the minimum. From this very website for your convenience:
The qualifying offer is calculated from the players base salary (NHL salary minus signing bonus), and at minimum must meet the seasons minimum salary requirements:
110% of the base salary if the base salary is less than or equal to $660,000
105% of the base salary if the base salary is greater than $660,000 or less than $1,000,000. However, this qualifying offer cannot exceed $1,000,000.
<strong>100% of the base salary if the base salary is equal to or greater than $1,000,000.</strong>
So you would have to have a signing bonus added into that $4 million figure for your qualifying offer on a $4 million offer sheet to be less than $4 million.</div></div>
Let me correct you again. For a qualifying offer you must match as you stated above. I'm not saying wait until he is a RFA to offer him the extension.
For example- Carolina got Kotkaniemi to sign offer sheet at $6.1 million for one year. Then during the year they extended him for 8 years at a cap hit of $4.8 million and his first years salary is only $4 million.

It doesn’t dude, it just doesn’t
Now if we can bring in guys who can <strong>play first</strong> and also bring a degree of toughness,
then great
But there’s no point on bringing in guys that you’re gonna want on your bench as much as possible</div></div>
A tough guy who can score 7 goals and get you 25 points, yeah I'll take that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Nicholas Roy is not going to sign a deal for $3.5 million average if you give him a $4 million offer sheet. You have to pay him at least $4 million as a qualifying offer to retain his RFA rights. Maybe he signs a multi year deal at $4.5 million, but as a third line center at best why would you?</div></div>
Not true. The lure of the $4 million gets him away from Vegas, with the hand shake agreement that a longer term deal with a lower cap will be signed later.

You say this every time someone either trades him or has him as extra forward. He is a good player, but Sabres have too many players like him. Need a bigger version of him who'll actually hit.

know the roster upend down and even know who is in the Ahl. Just my personal opinion on how should be developed. He is smaller and needs to bulk up. He will play wing in the NHL and although I like his tenacity and compete, ne needs to get bigger.

Krebs- 48games, 7goals, 15 assists, 22 points. Lots of turnovers, needs to spend half season in AHL.

My thoughts on the Vegas trade is that they have to shed cap and Theodore does not have any trade protection. Does he become available now that they have Pietrangelo? Also Vegas gave up Nate Schmidt a couple years ago as a cap dump for a 3rd rd pick after giving them 3 solid years.
Sabres need to capitalize on Olofsson this off season while his value is good. They don't need to pay him 4-5 million a year when they have Quinn and Peterka coming up that will cost less and give you the same production.

They get player and draft pick instead of just draft pick. I think they would prefer the skill set of Mitts over the more physical Comtois since Wild already have several players like Comtois.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Asplund slander</div></div>
This would be the line up to start the season. With the amount of games Girgs misses each year or any other forward, Asplund would play in 60-70 games.
