Not bad, I'm not sure Nylander is quite ready yet, and dealing Poulin is still questionable. but the Crouse addition is interesting.

Murray for Tierney is bad return for Pittsburgh.
I do find it funny that Ottawa fans honestly do not think that they need goaltending.

Staal at the Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>What this guy said ^ . Same reason Dallas is so strong on Faksa despite his underwhelming point totals. Staal is perhaps the league's best defensive minded forward. Sure, his worth compared to the contract is dropping, but I dont believe the hurricanes are looking to move him - and certainly not without some cost.</div></div>
Talking points doesn't equal reality.
He's practically a 50/50 Ozone to Dzone guy, and is a +/- of 0 at 5v5 play.
With a whopping 20 points in 5v5 play in 65 games or whatever. For a defensive center he gets 2.3 minutes of short handed ice time. That's not a lot of penalty killing.
To put it in terms you can understand. The team has 537 PM and he's only been out there for 151 of them or 28%.
It's not even worth the time debating this with you. You have over valued him not only in a trade but his value to the team.
He is not this elite player you think he is. What is true is he's slowly getting pushed down the roster.
His career path at this point is looking more and more similar to Brandon Dubinsky.

Depth D and FWD
I don't mind what you are trying to do... But the Pens are not trading Hallander for a bottom pairing D-man. He, Poulin, and Legare are their only real hope in the system at forward. It seems like Bjorkqvist may evolve into a Kunitz-Hornqvist type of player, but that will take a lot of NHL games. He will be a third line wing for a long time before he is smart enough and savvy enough around the net.
Hallander only goes for a top 4 D or top 6 wing with term.

Get him for a 5th.
Pens should look to add a winger with like ZAR as well. a PK guy who has some physicality.</div></div>
Johan Larsson or Girgensons make a lot of sense in that case.

Looking At Possible Jack Johnson Replacements
Do you think that Johnson plays bad because:
He spends 42% of his time with Letang, who constantly makes bad decisions and is out of place defensively leaving Johnson hanging out to dry? (Shot at Letang)
He spends 19% of his time with Marino who lacks experience and chases, putting himself out of position defensively leaving Johnson hanging out to dry? (Not a shot at Marino)
He spends 12% of his time with Schultz who tries to create offense and is often out of position defensively leaving Johnson hanging out to dry? (Similar shot as Letang, just lesser)
Like the 3-on-1 that Johnson faced the other day and everyone blamed Johnson for the goal?
I'm not saying that he is good, but the "it's Johnson's fault" thing has jumped the shark.

Why is no one talking about Tyler Ennis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MikeyThePensFan</b></div><div>I never said the Penguins should trade for Ennis, but he is definitely a far better player than Sheary. Ennis has 3 20 goal seasons and 5 seasons in which he would've hit 45+ points before falling off a cliff in 2015-16. Sheary on the other hand has only 1 20 goal 50 point season and he had the luxury of playing with Crosby. Ennis if not for signfiicant injury impacting his play would've established himself as a full-time top 6 winger. This isn't even a close comparison.</div></div>
Considering Sheary's 23 goal season had 21 even strength goals while Ennis' career high even strength goal number is 15, I would say they are at least equal.

Why is no one talking about Tyler Ennis
He's a 3rd line winger who hasn't has much success in the production category since 2015 and has poor career scoring chance metrics over his career. He's just a below average player with a decent shot. Not really anything worth trading for. We lost a true top 6 guy, we need to get someone with a higher quality shot than Ennis.

4. with vrgas better off getting both there 2nds this year an a 3rd this year with a conditional pick in 2021 if he resigns.
5. a good face off man is a need yes but needs to be one that can be a regular 3rd line center not an in between guy.
6. Dumba has been very inconsistent this year and our d doesnt need him an ok 3rd pairing right d would do and save money.

I don't know what is worse. The poster who traded away a guy playing a top NHL goalie for nothing. Or the person who thinks you don't give up a 2nd for it even if the team was crazy enough to do it.
I mean FFS your team is a combined -70 something.

A 1st and Hallander for just over a year of Edler? Why would you do that?
The Kings are looking to get picks and young prospects. Swap out Simon for a younger expansion draft exempt B prospect and that would probably get you Toffoli.

bold moves for this year and expansion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brandonius</b></div><div>Matt Murray has consistently shown to be a top 5 goalie in the NHL, and has taken over playoff series in consecutive cup wins. He has also shown to have had a few poor stretches. What he has going for him is, he is still only 25 and most elite goalies don't peak until 28+. Last year, he showed he could bounce back from a poor stretch by dominating the NHL from January on. He could end up being Cam Ward or he could find consistency and be a top 10 goalie every year. Edmonton is showing they are a contender when they get solid goaltending, but when smith and koskinen's play started dropping, so did Edmonton in the standings. They have a shot this year the way mcdavid and draisaitl are playing. these guys are both putting up career years and they would be wise to go for it this year.</div></div> MURRAY HAS PROVED THAT HE IS INCONSISTENT. The Penguins have too many forwards as it is right now, and they don't need grit to win. It'd be pointless in moving Galchenyuk and DeSmith for him</div></div>
So a 23 year old has no chance of getting better?

Rumored Heavy Talks Between MTL and PIT Regarding Maatta
I think using both players, Maatta and Brassard, Pens could get a much better offer than Danault and a 3rd. As a Pens fan, I'd be piss to see a trade like that happen. But I don't think JR would do that at all. I don't think Ferland worths that much, cause he's a rental. In your scenario he re-signs with Pens, ok. But it'd happen after the trade. So his value is less than that, in my opinion. I liked Boyle's trade. He's a good bottom-6 two-way player, who loves to score goals againts Pens. Besides, he's very good on PK, he gives 100% every single game and he still can play physical. So, he would be a nice add thinking about playoffs games style.

"Rutherford gave up a 1st for Reaves a couple years back"
Have someone near you smack you.
Some education for you. Rutherford was under ownership mandate to get someone to "protect" the Pens stars, Reaves was specifically named. Rutherford gave Sundqvist (who was in Sullivan's doghouse) and dropped 20 spots in the draft for Reaves. He then picked the same guy at 51 that he was going to at 31. So in essence, he traded Sundqvist for Reaves.
Knowing is half the battle.

Power Forward and C
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ComYog</b></div><div>Mostly likely on the wing? Probably Pearson.
But even then I think it's an issue. Maybe at the TDL. If Pearson can keep getting a few points and his value normalizes then I would move him. simply as Simon helps penguins so much with cap next year, same as ZAR.</div></div>
His production with out other people carrying him is awful and his production for being on a top line isn't really that good.
You have read to many articles on him. He's not that good.
Pearson is a better goal scorer. If you had to choose one or the other, you keep Pearson. Who is a player capable of producing on the 3rd line where you need depth scoring.
