Maybe so. I don't think it's that far off. A first, even if it's later in the first round, has some good value.

Um you started off good. Bozak deal seems reasonable and PHI could use a C, although they would likely prefer a cheaper option.
Things got bad though.
Manson is being kept by ANA. He is on his ELC and plays top 4 minutes. You will not get him for that, regardless of what they think of Bracco. Not even close man.
Again with WSH. Lindberg and a pick, really? The pick is not even 2017? Really? That's terrible. Doesn't matter how highly anyone thinks of Lindberg this is a huge no for WSH. He is a top 4 D. They possibly reject JVR....
Rychel and 2 2nd's do not get you Killorn. They will find a higher bidder regardless of their desperation. Rychel is going to be lost on waivers next year by someone to a crap team so it's really just 2 2nd's...gross...
Lets get serious on these offers fellow TML fans.

Both. Does he want to give up his team, his home for his entire career (10+ years), for a team that has probably the same chance of winning the Cup as the Wild?
The Tor trade wouldn't happen. Kadri = Dumba in value (sure). Koivu > Kadri: he's better defensively, better at FO%. Kadri has the better contract, and maybe more offensive upside. Kadris a downgrade in what the Wild are looking for in that 2C position: 2-way center that takes the hard draws, PK's, and gets tasked with stopping the opposing team's top-line.
Without the Tor trade the CBJ trade doesn't happen. CBJ and the Wild don't make good trading partners, they are similar teams in terms of needs.</i></div></div> lol kadri not a two way centre? Not taking hard draws? Not playing against opposing teams best players?
Have you not watched the leafs play? He played against Mcdavid and shut him down the first game and the next game he limited him.</i></div></div>
"Limited" him to 2 points.
Kadri is an OK 2 way C. He has not established himself enough as a "shut down guy". The media has overplayed this based on a week stretch.
I also challenge you to look at his faceoff numbers. They are borderline disgusting.
I like Kadri as a 2/3C playing 15min/game. He can play vs. top lines in spurts but I'm not sure we should be excited about him "shutting down" McDavid when he basically obstructed him the entire game. That will not work long-term as calls will start coming. He needs to learn better positioning in order to continue to develop his all around game.

I like where you're going with the trades, Manson would be a decent pick up and Bowey and Samsonov would be freaking great in my opinion, but I just don't think the value is good for either trades, nor do I think Bozak is gonna go for so little considering how much past forwards have gone for at the TDL. Also, I don't see Anaheim moving two RHD - one being in the majority of the games this season if not all - for a playoff run.</i></div></div>
How is Manson, a legit #4 D on an entry level deal and Stoner - a guy who has re-established himself as an NHL dman, a bad return for Bozak? ANA would laugh.

Moving some kids
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BStone67</b></div><div><i>I love all the players you're getting in the Philly trade, but I'm just not sure the Leafs are gonna move Hyman for it. Babs loves that guy even if he's not doing that great so far. He's gritty and been known for being hard on the puck and great possession numbers.
I'm not a fan of the Winnipeg trade. Komarov has great chemistry with Kadri and Brown is loved by Babcock the same way that Hyman has been, hence why he isn't on the fourth line anymore. And Connor has also been struggling a bit to get a good footing this year (granted it's his first NHL season) but Stafford isn't doing any better with only four points this season. I feel like adding in the pick was way too much and if anything should probably be going back to Toronto if anything, but that's just my opinion, since I do love Brown.
I get the reason for Connor, but not the price for him and I love Myers and Gudas, but I'm thinking the Leafs would rather move another forward before Hyman or Brown</i></div></div>
Stafford was more for the negative value and 1 year contract FYI.

DAL would definitely not be doing that deal. Honka is a very good prospect. Not worth it for them to dump salary for no reason. Lindberg (either a 4th liner or career AHLer) and a 2nd for Honka is how you need to look at it here. Disgusting.
The other deals could be fair value. Not sure why CHI would want to add Corrado though when their D is crowded and they have Pokka ready.

Although I am not suggesting Panarin is a stud defensively he surely has to be better than Nylander.

Look at their team. Suter and Parise there for a lifetime. They shouldn't be taking on $4.6m for that term. Kadri might be around fair value, just not what MN should be interest in from a contract stand point.

He is more of a 2/3 liner. He has had various issued this year with health which do not indicate long-term injury prone concerns. Could hurt his development tho...
He is 21 with 150+ games played for a reason.
In the mean time you suggest Hyman (a depth F on every single NHL team who is older than Lazar and almost at his peak age) is worth Manson (a cheap, 18-20 min RHD). I think you usually have good view points but stuff like this makes me shake my head at you lol. They would likely reject JVR for Manson (and not for their cap problems)...

Doubt NYI trade a top 10 for JVR. He is not worth it and it will only be for 1 year of him...Kulemin is far from a cap dump and they have lots of space.
I don't know if DAL pays the price for Jake but I think the leafs should keep him in this scenario.

He's going to be giving a shot as the Leafs RWer with Marner, and likely Nylander will be moved to centre. Plenty of other ways for the Leafs to get a Dman without trading their # 1 forward prospect.
A younger Valiev, Pokka and Nielsen seem to have as much promise as Dman to make the NHL as Pokka.</i></div></div>
I disagree. Pokka is in the NHL if it isn't for the hawks having 7 solid d men. His time will come later this year or next.
Valiev, (Dermott? I think you meant) and Nielsen are all good prospects but are probably further away from being labelled NHL caliber.
I still want to see JVR moved for the best D man they can get that can play the right side. Doesn't need to be a top 2.

Well this trade is pre expansion draft. Leafs can be in the playoff hunt this year so a #2 goalie could be required. Bibeau is not that. He is a project.
Not sure how many times this has to be explained. When players are sent down they often go unclaimed only to then be traded. Things change. Enroth was still up with the big club. Come deadline time we might be looking for a backup goalie.
If hammond is "that good". Who said he was good? We get him for a very small price. There are 100 Hymans to go around, we get a late pick and we get rid of Michalek to keep him happy and not spoil the kids in the AHL.

I still like Hamilton. No question his contract is expensive but why would CGY basically cap dump him. JVR for 1 year and then walks as a return for a quality 22 yr old dman? That makes no sense for CGY who is not ready to win.
