if Ottawa looks like they are not going to get a sniff @ the post season and Giroux wants to go back then they should honor that. It is a good offer.
He has been a good veteran stabilizer in Ottawa but he deserves to play in the playoffs.

Agree with you. If the Flyers are "sellers" get what you can for upcoming UFAs. Heck you might even be able to some of them next summer as you suggested with Walker.

Thanks for the feedback Mr/Ms Jabroni. I think he’s a good depth pickup for a cup contending team.

Broberg to Philly for a Cap Swap - The Win Win Trade
PHI says no, Campbell is a huge minus and PHI already has 5mil petersen in minors. Foegele and Ceci do nothing for them.
Theyd rather move those guys for picks, not cap dump UFAs/players they dont want.
PHI doesn;t have cap issues, all those guys are playing for them and playing well, (risto still getting into shape). Your probably missing 2 1sts from PHI even considering

MTL AND EDM COULD WORK ON A BLOCKBUSTER PER DREGER
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>future_gm</b></div><div>Certainly not.</div></div>
Man the comps are there. Rittich, Korpi, Desmith, Adin hill. You could probably sell someone up to a 2nd with great negotiating skills, but the list of successful goalies who weren't good at either the KHL/AHL/NHL level until they were 26 isn't long. Best example is probably Rittich, who again didn't pan out into anything after 2 solid years in Calgary at age 26/27.
Robin Lehner at 1.1 million dollars, 28 years old, who had a 3rd place vezina finish the year before, was in the middle of a 6th place vezina campaign, and had a 7 year quality track record with 0 injury history at the time got a 2nd and a 5th
Kovy is a solid 3rd pairing dman who can handle sheltered 3rd pairing minutes. Teams are going to want that depth/injury insurance as either a 6/7D. But he doesn't have upside and he doesn't have a track record with bigger minutes, he's not going for that much.

Flyers getting in on McDavid
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dr_Invictus</b></div><div>Conversely, the CBJ trade looks like something they would accept.</div></div>
It's not a bad offer, but Johnson has high-end potential and is still viewed as a huge part of the future. The difference between him and Frost as it pertains to CBJ's future isn't a late first and early 2nd. Even if it was, we'd keep the player with higher potential just because we've got plenty of darts to throw at the dartboard, but finding and keeping high-end talent has been a struggle.

Nice write up. Looks like a quiet deadline for the Flyers but I think that's alright. Players developing, still need some veteran good around to lead.

Moving out the UFAs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>phillyjabroni</b></div><div>Turcotte has had concussion problems the last few years which have impeded his development and should be taken into account when assessing his development curve. I agree he doesn't and won't hit his DY potential, but in his first year when he is healthy, he has played well so far. I can agree that maybe Turcotte wouldn't be an ideal fit for Calgary or optimal in a Zadorov trade, but my comment was related to saying he's "essentially a bust/AHL player".
As for Bjornfot, he's not anything more than a 7th or bottom pair defensemen at this point. Didn't comment on his status because I agree with what you said.
I'm not super bullish on Zadorov netting a 1st rounder, but would think his value is similar to Gavrikov from last year's deadline.</div></div>
Sounds like you know better than me, so I defer to you on that. Sorry if I come across like jerk lol, having a bit of a manic day lol.
So basically something like a 1st + Klingberg + 3rd FOR Zadorov + Grier
Without retention it’s okay and nets a 1st at least, just not sure about wanting/needing Klingberg or whether we could flip and for what. Many are saying TOR should add at least a 2nd to dump him alone

Toronto isn't truly saving cap with that trade. They are wasting cap space and a 1st because it's going to go unused for the most part. Any team that is looking to trade guys at the TDL will be willing to take cap back, so if they trade Klingberg and a 1st, it will be for a player of high value not a 3rd pairing guy.

3-Team Garland Trade
Canucks decline. They won't retain and pay to dump Garland. They're most likely looking to move Garland for a RHD who also has an undesirable contract. Swapping out a position of strength (wing) for a position of need (defence). The team they deal with most likely falls on the other end of the spectrum with an excess of defensemen and a need on the wing.

I don't mind the parameter of this deal from a Canucks fan but the retention is an issue for Van.
Real money doesn't mean much of anything these days. There are few owners in the league who don't spend to the cap or dish out the $. Montreal is definitely not one to hold back.

No from mtl on a few fronts.
They dont want to downgrade a pick to dump armia.
They dont want to retain on walker because then they cant retain on monahan who will be one of the most coveted tdl assets.
They dont want garland they already have too many undersized wingers

I don't think the deadline sell off will be anything more than some of the UFA guys like Vrana, Kap, Bortuzzo, maybe Blais. And with the central division looking pretty lousy after COL and DAL, it may not happen at all. I think the FO is still hoping to slide into playoffs.

Only guys that would fall into that category are Michkov and Gauthier. He's projection is more middle-six, complementary scorer rather than some trailblazer maestro in the offensive zone. Wouldn't actively shop him in any deal but also wouldn't pass on trading him for the right price. I would rather keep him and see if he can develop his scoring versus trading for another 200-ft center when they have Couturier/Cates</div></div>

Where to move Frost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>phillyjabroni</b></div><div>Frost getting scratched is mostly due to the fact he didn't play well the first two games and the Flyers have rookies who made the team who need to rotate playing time (Brink and Foerster). Fair enough about the age difference, feel that Barron isn't going to be part of Montreal's long term plan and eventually moved out.</div></div>
Yet he was the one chosen to sit.
Frost wpuldnt be part of that long term plan either.
The habs arent moving young higher end assets for depth players.
