No thanks rather have Nurse. There’s nothing there that interests me that much to accept.

This is fine
STL would never think about accepting that deal.
Trades of players like Marincin etc make no sense at all.
Rubins is someone who the Leafs should never essentially give away. He young, massive, improving rapidly, the kind of D that the team has been desperate to find, and does not require waivers for the 3 years.
Sandin and Liljegren should never be paired together.

I believe when you try and sign Pul to a contract on AGM, he is on the reserve list and can only signa max of 925 or something along those lines. Anyway, I agree it's less the money. My feeling is he stays with the Oilers and signs a one year deal when training camp starts.</div></div>
Maybe but if he doesn't click with McDavid or Draisaitl then he's playing with crap linemates and his career could be over. I think he will get traded and even then he may only be a 3rd liner until he proves himself. His value isn't high.

Nylander has 59 points and Wilson has 44. Why is Toronto adding to that trade? If anything Washington should be adding a couple 1sts.</div></div>
Points dont mean everything, if I'm building a team and I have the choice between Nylander and Wilson I'm taking Wilson

I honestly think Dermott could be top 4 if he played alongside a vet like Muzzin. He looked good playing with a terrible Holl in the playoffs, and I think he could handle it playing with a better, more experienced player than himself. Absolutely need an experienced RD on the first pair with rielly, and possibly even another to play with Sandin, who could slide up if needed

LOL
Kerfoot for C. Foote and N. Foote. The Leafs need a pair of feet to win.

yah we dont want 2 trade lindholm cause he can kill penalties, plays well defensively, has played more physical in the playoffs, & has a low cap hit, maybe they could get hoffman or dadanov in FA ?

Fire Dubas
You can certainly do a lot worse with GM's. Take it from a fan who saw Fenton trade Nino for Rask, Coyle for Donato and a very late pick, and while Fiala for Granlund looks like a home run trade for us, at the time Granny was a 2-time 60+ point winger and Fiala had not had a single season scoring more than 48 points and was coming off a major leg injury. Oh and he signed Zuccarello to a $30M deal over 5 years and gave him a NMC. Toronto fans of all fan bases should know it could be <em>a lot</em> worse.
Dubas managed to keep 3 supremely talented forwards and signed a #1 center in free agency which almost never happens in the NHL. Does he have more work to do? Certainly, but he's not as bad of a GM as some fans on here make him out to be.

As a fan of none of these teams, I see Vasilevskiy, Hart, Shesterkin, and Samsonov as the future top goalies in the league. Perhaps he doesn’t win multiple because it’s a difficult trophy to win, but 2-3 years down the line he’ll start being in that conversation consistently for a while imo. He’s been great in every league he’s ever played in, the pedigree is there.

Hawks run away from that. Dermott doesn't have a ton of value to the Hawks given Carlsson and Beaudin both on ELCs, plus Valsic not too far off in addition to having De Haan and Maatta, one of which has to be traded already before even considering adding Dermott into a crowded mix.
Strome and Murphy plus a 2nd at most and value wise a 3rd is worth Nylander IMO, we don't need to upgrade the 2nd or 3rd to the 17th OA in a deep draft for a guy we don't need in Dermott.

Marner trade to fix the D
I’m still on the idea that you keep Mitch and trade Nylander. Mitch is clearly better and Nylander can still get a top RHD to play with Rielly
By year 4 Kane has 303 points in 317 games for Chicago. Marner has 293 points in 300 games. I don’t get the Marner bashing

Win the lottery trade Mitch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tony135420</b></div><div>At the end of the day, this is that would be the product of parity in the leagues setup. Do you believe the NHL can only achieve parity by having small/lower reveue market teams succeed? Just trying to gauge where you draw the line when it comes to league parity?.</div></div>
I'm not entirely sure how I would fix the system tbh. I am from the UK, so our major sports leagues, football for example don't buy into the idea of parity being important, theres no salary cap and the rich teams frequently win.
I'm interested because the ideas of a draft and maintaining parity seem very important to NA sports, but no league seems to have a system that achieves this well. As a Detroit fan this obviously stings because we were the worst team in the salary cap era, and ended up in that place as a result of building a team as the NHL would want, trying to make the playoffs even when it was not in the best interest of the team long term.

It's hard to know whether it is a lack of effort, but teams built by committee rather than on the backs of a few incredible players seem to run deeper in the playoffs with more regularity.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Seider53</b></div><div>Fair enough, what logic are Leafs fans using to rationalise a Lafreniere lottery win not negatively affecting parity?</div></div>
Leafs got screwed when the salary cap was introduced. I couldn't care less about parity, I want my team to win. Simple as that. Leafs win, HRR goes up, teams get more money, salary cap goes up. Whats good for the Leafs is good for the league. They already keep half the small market teams in the league afloat with equalization payments.
