Nugent-Hopkins is arguably more valuable to the Sabres than Ehlers would be (arguably a better player right now factoring position and production), yet you offer the Oilers less?

It seems you have overrated Ristolainen subconsciously by unintentionally becoming sentimentally attached. Don't worry, it's because you're human. Try to realise, accept and react accordingly.

Probably because ehlers has 6 years left and rnh has 2.

For the Jets I would give back Rodrigues (as we don't need any bottom 6 forwards and can't afford is $2M caphit) and the 2020 1st in exchange for Couzens or Middlestat.

Risto and one of those 2 for Ehlers or Connor, maybe with a pick (not a 1st) going to Buffalo would be something I'd have to think really long and hard on.

Risto plus cozens/mittelstadt= Connor, not ehlers.

I said you could have either one, whichever you prefer.

I think of all the proposed, kapanen is closest in value, but im sure toronto would either want us to retain or take something back. Not really interested in making stone soup out of a ristolainen trade- if the add has to be our first/cozens/mittelstadt, its not really a ristolainen trade, hes just an add on.

If I'm buffalo I'm not doing the wpg or EDM trade. Both overpayments.

Not because I think Risto is valuable or anything; I just wouldn't want them to part with those additional assets.

Those ANA trades are laughable, you're getting the future face of their franchise for a number 4 d man and like a 4th, bc LTIR contracts really don't have that much negative value, and you're getting a team that needs goals desperately their best pure goal scorer most likely (ik Silf is there, but Sprong is good at one thing, shooting the puck, that's it) and their best offensive driver of play who had one of the best points/60 last year league wide...

I don't think a lot of people understand how good Kase was for the Ducks last year. If he stays healthy he can hit 25 goals.

I like the jets one the most. Maybe take Rodriguez out and make it a future pick? I dont know!! Risto's trade value is all over the place. he's a young offensive dman with some defensive issues from most reports, but he's also been stuck on a pretty bad team in his time. I wonder if a change of scenery is what he needs? or even a better d partner? who knows...he is young and under contract so his value should b pretty high.

I do think the additional first round is an over payment in the jets deal, but I like Sheary to EDM as a winger for one of McDavid or Leo D

I agree. Sheary would probably be a nice fit in EDM since they are searching for some help on the wing. My point was more so about not wanting the sabres to part with there 1st or Asplund.

all these armchair gMs here on CF seem to believe everyone is lining up to take Ristolainen off the sabres hands. The oilers shouldn't look to trade RNH they need more capable forwards and trading one of their few good ones for risotto or another defenseman is just dumb and boneheaded. Risto has bloughted stats and if people actually watched sabres games this year they would know how bad he is.
