1 year deal low risk and low salary you can bury in the minors if he falls flat on his face which is more than likely... low risk contract and at worst AHL depth for the Eagles.

Good luck. Either he'll do well or he'll be a nightmare like he was in Dallas.

Low Risk, High Reward. Either he pans out or he plays for the Eagles, Id say this is a win win.

Not sure how well he was utilized in Dallas. This could be a very good signing, but low-risk in either case.

Nail Yakupov, Mihkael Grigorenko now Avalanche take next one Nichushkin before he fly back to KHL. Looks like Colorado place where you can get last chance!

Good signing here by Nordiques' legend Joe Sakic. Very low risk signature. If he doesn't do great this year they can toss him and find someone else. Bravo mon Joe!

He couldn't score a single goal playing with Benn and Seguin.

I mean he sucks but there is absolutely zero risk here. Just bury him in the AHL if he doesn't work out.

Low risk, high reward. For him is this last chance, for Avs is it a "press boxer" or firstliner for their minor team

I think this is a terrific signing for the money and term. IF he plays well it's a complete bargain for a first round draft pick and if he does not it's no big loss at all. He's a huge player with size and has skill just needs to play the game the right way. Smart move by GM Joe. The Avs have learned from their mistakes and are now on the right track. Besides loosing Grimaldi (which was their worst move) they have made some good decisions lately.

Lo, how the mighty are fallen . . . I sure wish he could revive his career, though. I want either him or Pontus Aberg to redeem himself.

He was at least 4th line quality a few years ago. Then he went to the KHL and the wheels fell off. Given it's a much different game today than 4 years ago. The game really sped up about 4 years ago with teams now focused a lot more on speed. I guess we'll see.

Worst case he's a fourth liner that thinks he's still a scorer and they let him go back to Russia next season. I still think this guy could carve out a career in the league if he commits to a two way game and learns to be a net front presence tipping pucks on the PP.
