I think Grubaur is not a goalie that can lead the avs into a deep cup run but I also think price isnt the right goalie target for the avs. As a pens fan, COL should give Murray a look and see if they can get some sort of deal done for him. He makes/will make a lot less than price, and would cost less in a trade too. Not that i want the pens to trade murray, but looking at it from an avs POV it wouldnt be a bad thing to at least inquire about it.

This contract of Price just kills its value, he did not play better in the last 1-2 years and most likely his game will decline.

Player 1 career: 2.48 GAA, .919 save %,
Player 2 career: 2.49 GAA, .917 save %

One is under contract @ $3.3 mil, is 28, and allows you flexibility going forward, while the other is 32, is under contract @$10.5 mil until he's 38 or 39 and absolutely screws you when it comes to signing re-signing Jost, Bura, Zadorov, Wilson, etc. and handcuffs you when it comes to adding any sort of depth.

Tell me more about why Colorado would give up a goaltender that is younger, and is playing at a pretty comparable level to Price, plus Byram, who was just ranked as the 3rd best affiliated prospect in the league, plus a pick for Price? Because he was really good in his mid 20's?

its funny that not a single NHL Player agrees with you as they Vote Price top Goalie more often then not .
Its what Ovechkin , Crosby , Stamkos , Benn , Getzlaf and players of this caliber think that matters .

How many goalies have an even strength GSAA of -28 over the past 2.5 years. Price is declining fast. Players vote on Price because he has some spectacular games and because they knew Price as an elite goalie. But advanced stats are telling Price isn't even average over the past 2.5 years

Yup, and the Habs have 24 Stanley cups. The issue is, all of those things were in the past, whereas now we're in 2020.

Habs should trade price and bring back Martin Brodeur by that logic.
