Yesterday I discussed the first round series between the Golden Knights and the Predators, through voting the Golden Knights advance to round 2!

Today, I will be taking a look at the series between the 4 Flyers and the 5 Penguins.

Forwards:
Penguins:
Have a load of talent up front. While Sid may not have been at his peak level this year he has had a lot of time to rest up and playoff Sid is always scary. Geno was great this season carrying a large part of the load while Crosby was out of the lineup. Jake Guentzel is a severely underrated two way forward who IS NOT a product of Sid, he is amazing by himself. Trade acquisition Jason Zucker was very good for them as he seemed to play great on a line with Crosby. ZAR, Rust, and Tanev are all great depth players.

Flyers: 1C Sean Couturier should win the selke trophy this year. He is also pretty strong at generating offense. Travis Konecny broke out this year in a pretty big way. Giroux and Voracek can still do some damage offensively if given the opportunity.

Advantage Pens: Playoff Sid and Geno are just complete monsters and they have great depth up front.

Defence:
Penguins: One of the most underrated cores in the league. The only player who is not good is Jack Johnson, everyone else on that blue line is a pretty solid defenceman.

Flyers: Provorov was real solid this season, behind him Niskanen and Sanheim also had strong seasons.

Advantage Penguins: I don't think people realize that they have a great defensive core. Letang is still really good, rookie John Marino was a great two way dman, same goes for Dumo, and Petterson.

Goalies:
Penguins: This is where the team had a bit of inconsitency, Murray struggled at times this season, however when Jarry was in their he was good for the most part, it will be interesting to see who they choose to start.

Flyers: Carter Hart was really strong this season, I believe he has the ability to steal a game or two for the Flyers.

Advantage Flyers: This is where the Flyers hope they could win this series. Carter Hart has shown to be reliable this season, lets see if he can keep it up.

My consensus: While the Flyers have the better overall record, I think the Pens have a deeper squad throughout the lineup, give the history of these two teams in the playoffs I don't expect it to be a blowout but I think the Penguins win in 6 games.
