As a CHI fan...pass. What are the odds Murray becomes a UFA in the off season??? 50/50??? 75/25 that he will become a UFA?

Hawks pass. Don't want the johnson cap dump. We can trade matta elsewhere or buyout matta for very cheap if we have to

He's arbitration eligible. He's coming off a team friendly deal. He's a 2x cup winner. And due to COVID...the cap will very likely be flat and exacerbate any cap issues any team has. So Yeah...if the team doesn't agree to pay Matt Murray whatever the court says....He becomes a UFA. What's the odds of PIT finding cap space to pay Matt Murray?

I don't know what his cap hit SHOULD be...I'm going to take a guess between $5.5M-$6.5M...can PIT accept that? If you think NO....then he's going to be a UFA.

ALSO, let's pretend CHI does make this trade for just a moment (even though they wouldn't) Stan now has the rights to Matt Murray...Murray is still arbitration eligible!!! CHI is going to trade away Maatta...lose Murray to UFA because we can't pay Matt Murray $5.5M-$6.5M and we're stuck with Jack Johnson. It just doesn't make sense.

Still making no sense, he won’t make it to arbitration and even if he did the Pens could probably afford that number. Also that number is way too high, he’s coming off a bad season so arbitration would be substantially below that

Murray could agree to a $1M deal. Nothing stops him from doing that. I don't think Murray's going to give PIT...yet another...team friendly contract. So yes there is an assumption there. 1 bad year isn't going to negate 2 good years and 2 outstanding cups runs to an arbitrator. His previous team friendly deal of $3.75M isn't going to be a $1M increase either. That's Ludacris. So a court...not JR will decide his cap hit.

What do you think Jordan Binnington's NEXT contract will be...contingent upon him winning ANOTHER Stanley Cup. That's what were talking about. ALOT more than $4.4M
