The Jets have said they are not trading assets for rentals this summer. They are only interested in long term solutions.

Meant to sign him but forgot. In reality sounds like Guerin was extremely unhappy with him so I think he's traded this offseason, either in a package for a center or for picks.

In that case I suppose it could be any team looking for a 2C with picks to spare. Makes sense the Jets want a long-term option though

What about Greenway for Dermott?

Could make sense if we trade a blueliner, although we'd have to expose Dermott in the expansion draft and he'd be a likely candidate for Seattle to take.

Hmmm shocker a Minny Fwd who does not reach there full potential or meet expectations.

Do we get Kane to drag Strome around to make look like more than a 3C in that Brodin trade?

I think that the Jets are just tired of moving futures two years in a row for rentals and are now finding the prospect cupboards are starting to look bare. So, they are determined to find a long term solution.

Why do you think the Wild/Fans on here would be so quick to trade Staal?? I get it if the above happens and we can bring in two younger centers but Staal was still productive this year and has been since he came here? I know he does not have many years left but I think there are other more pressing issues than getting rid of Staal.

I feel Barzal is who you should target with offer sheet, there is real possibility Barzal's days as Islander are numbered.

I don't think we re-sign him if we don't have to, and the only reason we wouldn't have to is if we acquire two young centers this offseason. Otherwise, I'd be fine with extending him for another year.

I thought Chevy had mentioned it on a radio interview when the league started back up at the beginning of August. I don't have a link or anything though.

I'd LOVE Barzal, but I don't think he leaves Long Island unless we have to give up four 1sts in compensation. If we don't, though, I'd happily offer sheet him.

The cap situation with Islanders is not good.
You think Lou will pull off multiple cap dumps enough to keep Pulock Barzal and Toews?

Dont forgot that the players have NTC too.

Because he’s old and slow and no longer has good hands or a quick release, that’s why.

If i could anything decent in return for him, I’d send him packing...center depth be dammed.

Yea I guess. Actually I would rather try to figure out how to get rid of/Buyout Rask and Dubby .

Yea but I have a feeling that the Rask/Dubby situation will be easier to take care of than Zucc and call me crazy but I would not mind keeping Zucc for another year in hopes that in his second year here he can develop chemistry with someone.
