Whats The Asking Price For Danault

Created by: ClockReads2113
Team: 2020-21 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 15, 2020
Published: Aug. 25, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With Suzuki and Kotk on the rise and Danault questioning his future with MTL, what would it take to get him? Think he would be a great add for the Caps. It would allow us to move Kuznetsov to the wing. Or would Kuz be involved in the trade? Which I wouldn't mind if MTL gives up a bit more.

Preferably the first round picks of Buffalo, Minnesota or Winnipeg in this years draft. Other than that I would say a high offensive winger. I could see a Vrana Danualt base of a trade if you were strictly talking Wash

Yea no.
What I mean is unless MTL sucks next year and we know Phil won’t sign an extension (in which case we send him out at the deadline), he isn’t being traded

🙄 He just said he doesn't want to just be a shutdown center but also to contribute offensively. He's not "questionning his future"...

He will sign long term in Montreal. Stop dreaming.

The thing is that he won't be able to contribute offensively in MTL.

F*** yeah you don’t. Here’s what’s going on: Danault isn’t for sale, especially for an expensive, aging, terrible two-way guy like Kuz. As Danault ages and declines, Kotkaniemi and Suzuki will pass him on the depth chart and he will become a reliable 3C. For now, he can settle on sharing time in a three way rotation with KK and Suzuki. Teams with depth are the best teams.

Aging? Kuznetsov is 1 year older, settle down.

No cap. From Washington in would cost Vrana and a pick most likely.

Oshie all day. Orlov probably not. Definitely no for Vrana or Wilson.

Both teams have the cap room. No way in hell Caps do it for Vrana straight up let alone adding a pick.

LOL stop dreaming over a good center? Danault isn't some elite offensive franchise player that no way will he traded. I could easily see him being traded.

He was also asked if his role on the team will influence his decision to stay in Montreal long-term and he said, “Yes.” So if Suzuki and Kotk take over 1-2 he isn't resigning to be on the 3rd line.

Sadly for us Habs fans, this is the correct take on what Danault said.

You have it aaaaaaall figured out from a "yes" to a generic question.

What was he supposed to say? "I dont care if I'm not on the first line, I only care about the money!"

Glad you see him beeing traded. Now stop telling people about your dreams of getting Montréal 's hometown boy with Selke considerations beeing traded to your team because he played hard to get during his contracts negociations.
