Doesn't really make sense for the Leafs. Mikheyev had a very solid season that was cut short due to injury. Won't make much money due to a lack of sample size; this is a guy who could very well significantly outperform his dollar value next year. That's something the Leafs need far more than a 2nd.

He is but whatever. there's no way the leafs are giving up an RFA they brought in and worked to develop who's still going to be a cheap contract and loves Toronto to do favours for Montreal. Cheap contracts are king and big contracts have limited value. It's a flat cap world and everyone is looking for the same thing. Also, Leafs players have value to teams since their AAV is higher than what they are owed. Teams will want them. That's attractive to teams that won't have fans in the stands for quite a while.

The starting point would be a first added to the deal to take the Weber contract and at that the Jets still don’t make that deal
The Jets would use the Weber cap # to sign PIETRANGELO or 2 UFA defensemen

Weber is staying in Montreal for the life of that contract.
