Doubt Stamkos is leaving Tampa but with his injury history there's no way I'd give that much for him.

I wouldn’t give 1/4 of that value for Stamkos at this point of his career...with that much left on his contract!! Heck, I’m not sure i would give anything for him...

Finally someone giving actual value for the guy, probably too much actually, but he's not waiving his NMC...

He's 30, 4 years left at $8,5M on his contract and he averages around 95 points per normal year...

He's tad unlucky with injuries, but they're not related to head issues. There's literally nothing wrong with the guy.

I dunno why people are underrating the guy so much after missing out a single playoffs due to a muscle injury.

NSH doesn't need a middle 6 winger and they don't need Byron. If anything, they need top 6, 2nd line wingers. But it looks like they're content to use the young players and prospect(s) in that role, for better or worse. Preds pass.

Nothing against Stamkos as a player or a person, but it’s simply not good business to acquire 30+ year olds on long-term contracts...especially when injuries are starting to add up.

I'd agree with that notion if he had shown even a slight signs of decline...but he hasn't. Even during his two minute stint in the playoffs he managed to score. He hasn't lost his touch at all I think.

Let's look at this proposal from Montreal's perspective. MB has said multiple times that they view KK as the 1C of the future not Suzuki. They feel like KK has a higher ceiling and Suzuki will be a great 1B option. Stamkos is an elite goal scorer no doubt about that but would you give up Cirelli + Foote + 1st + 2 2nds for Kane? That is basically what your asking Montreal to do here. Both Kane and Stamkos are aging stars on expensive contracts and neither are really worth that much of the future. Sure the Habs are looking to compete now but our current lineup allows us to do that even without a superstar. Sure it will be harder but it is not impossible. If we move KK our Center depth sucks we would have Suzuki and Danault followed by Poehling who can't even crack our lineup as a winger and Evans who is a solid 4th line center but that's about it. After them the talent really drops off to Hillis and Teasdale. No I think Montreal likes their lineup better with KK and Suzuki.

Hold up. This ain't my trade, and I did say originally that there's too much going Bolts' way.

What I'm saying is that I like that once in a while some people actually see that Stamkos has high value. Usually the moves are like Strome+1st for Stammer or something as disappointing...I've even seen some moves where TB would have to pay to get rid of the guy...
