Zero chance Detroit takes on over 4m of cap for that many years, just for a player and 1st round pick that probably won't even be a high 1st. Hard pass.

So you think Nylander + Holl gets you an upgrade on first round picks, Stamkos @ 4.25M for 4 years, Sean Walker, a second rounder, and third rounder. Good luck with that.

Calling Vilardi just "a player" is an understatement

Why would Detroit take on $4.25 mil on Stamkos for 4 years? The guy can't stay healthy and sorry Vilardi and a late 1st round pick aren't enough.

Detroit doesn't want other teams "depth" players that would be top 6 on their team, they want to stay at the bottom forever,

Vilardi and Walker aren't being moved, the whole idea of a rebuild is that you hold on to good young players and draft picks right?

Kings laugh. Vilardi will be the center you wish you had when he puts up 80+ points, shuts down top centers, and costs 6M because he's undervalued now that we have Byfield.

    I wouldn't trade Vilardi 1 for 1 for Matthews.

God forbid they rebuild through drafting and developing instead of taking on over paid players when they can just sign cheaper FAs that still provide on ice value.

Kings would be 10 times better off signing a UFA for 7m and keeping those top picks rather than Nylander at 7m X 4 years

He's a hell of a prospect, that's not the way I meant it, but nothing is given and he's still not guaranteed to be a stud... Taking on YEARS of dead cap for no guarantee is not a good move

What the Dickens. Is this facetious? Wow.

I like Vilardi as much as the next bloke but no part of his skillset or NHLe so far suggests anything close to 80 points. Likely a Josh Bailey level player with 50 points every year and hitting 70 when everything goes right. Maybe Cirelli-ish at very best? Maybe?

Kopitar had one of the highest scoring rates in Swe u20 history in his draft year so it's kinda apples to oranges there, easy to see he'd be superb 🌠

Almost all of that money has virtually no negative impact on their situation as they won't be competing at that time. Maybe in 2023 kinda conflicting? Maybe.

They effectively get Vilardi + 20th overall for... nothing

Worst case scenario they become competitive around 2022 and it's a bit tough but even then it balances out

    This AGM is neat actually

A few key adjustments to make* but a core function AGMs provide is for interesting ideas that can be developed & generate interesting discussion ✅

*TB should end up with Walker/2nd/3rd for instance
