Yep. That svech goal was the only thing that made me smile about this game. We fought hard, but just couldn't get the job done. If we want to advance, we have to win 4 of the next 5 (seems pretty tough, right?). Now we'll have to find a way to win on the road.

Right now everyone's talking about how amazing a job Sakic has done for Colorado, but if the Avalanche lose this series, there will be tons of people saying that the Avs need to make big changes and that they're a joke of a franchise and that Sakic should be fired lol

Yep, Sakic was gm in 2013, 2017 Colorado was the worst team in the NHL despite having Mackinnon and Landeskog but did Sakic get fired, No. He trusted the process and continued to draft and tinker and now in 2021 Colorado is arguably one of the best teams in the NHL.

People in Toronto may say trade this do that. Honestly I say trust the process and dont move the core. They are young and will grow. This experience to me is a learning curve and I have a feeling Matthews and Marner are gonna rebound from this.

All in All I am excited to see what comes next as if you thought the leafs offseason last year was fun this year is probs gonna be insane

There will be plenty of bargain bin bottom 6 guys who can make an impact. Look at spezza. Best 700k guy I have seen. Benning could learn a thing or two as bottom 6 guys dont need 5mill contracts. Dubas and Pridham have navigated the cap just fine and do it again next year. Plus some prospects will be graduating giving new motivation to the team
