Killorn has value, no matter how f*cked Tampa will be cap-wise

Moving on from DeMelo is a bad idea, he's analytically our best defender as well finding UFAs that want to play in Winnipeg is difficult

Lightning and Jackets both decline, and Demelo won't be the one getting picked in the Expansion Draft, Appleton will.. I'm also not convinced that Stastny stays, if he does, would likely need a a mill more per AAV and 2 or 3 year deal...

That’s ignoring the fact the statsny will be 36 by the end of next season

They won’t give away Killorn. If we go in on a RHD I’d like to see Hamilton signed. I don’t think Jones would resign

Trading Copp to get assets and to protect Appleton is what should be done.

Exposing DeMelo to protect Stanley. Sense from others that DeMelo won't be taken anyways.

Your wrong by a mile the Jets can trade with the kraken to keep both Copp and Appelton and DeMelo would 100% be take if left un-protected

Jets should just let the Kraken take Appleton. No need to burn extra assets for a player whose role could be filled by Vesalainen, Harkins, Perreault (if re-signed) or depth acquisition.

If you are in the mood to set fire to assets, then it would probably take the form of the Kraken asking for a 1st for Expansion Draft Consideration (they take Seuss or Dano). Just let them take Appleton because he isn't worth a 1st.

Wrong. What are you going to give the Kraken to protect Appleton? A first?

Jones declines. He will have Winnipeg on his 10 team no-trade list.

Lightning decline. They will be able to find a better offer for Killorn than an AHL/fringe-NHL player.

Not sure where I said that Copp is going to the Kraken. Trade Copp for assets - didn't say where. Once Copp is traded then a protected spot opens up which where Appleton would slide into.

I know there is allot of DeMelo fans out there but If DeMelo is taken then so be it. Rather have Stanley.

Protecting Stanley over demelo should get Chevvy fired tbh. No team is looking for a 23 year old rookie with average numbers LOL. A defensive Dman who can fit in anywhere in your lineup is much more valuable than someone who’s saving grace is being tall

Logan Stanley is what he is, a 23 year old, third pairing, sheltered defender. He doesn’t have the IQ, or foot speed to ever play against the best of the best in the NHL. Losing him, when you have much better prospects in Heinola, Samberg and Chisholm is a non loss.

Dylan Demelo would be one of the first players taken by Seattle. An organization that has built up a heavy analytic infrastructure sees how undervalued he is at $3M and how much value he brings to a team. You don’t give up those types when you have them. It’s one of Chevy’s only two, real valued free agent deals in his tenure.

This is insane to even be a discussion at this point. The real discussion should be between Logan Stanley and Josh Morrissey, who a team like Seattle likely isn’t betting on long term, on that contract. For the same reasons stated above, they’d see just how deeply he’s struggled and hasn’t lived up to the contract. That’s a negatively valued assed in a capped league.

For a sign-and-trade, that's not going to pass muster for Jones. At least one blue-chipper is going to be need to be in there.
