If Eichel is moved, start the rebuild again.

Power just seems like Gudbranson 2.0

Literally any time any scout talks about him, the first thing they mention is size..... that's not a good thing at all.

Beniers is a better team fit and player.

Beniers all day. Or trade down to 7 target Raty, Lysell, Clarke and get some other stuff with it.

You know how all hockey executives think. Power is their dream defenseman. They won’t pass him up unfortunately.

Ottawa had Chabot and Brannstrom and still took Sanderson last year. I don’t think either of Johnson or Samuelsson is necessarily a surefire top 4 guy, no harm in adding a 6’6” guaranteed top pair guy. If both Johnson and Samuelsson make it you can always trade one of them later. Besides, D develop more slowly and Buffalo wants to be bad for a couple more years.

They could prob see if they can trade back and pick up Beniers and get another pick/prospect.

Assuming they select Power in this example, there is no rush to move a defense prospect. It's always nice to deal from a position of strength though

Actually I would equate Power to Erik Johnson. Big size, big shot. He will be an NHLer, but not anything special

Except I see Seattle taking Beniers. Plenty of defensemen available in expansion and they'll probably get some wings. They'll need center depth to grow.
