its basically just a 3rd for his rights and then he signs his 8 year deal it wont be the NBA style where its here take this player and a 1st. So in a sense he gets his money and term and toronto gets something for him which is the NHL equivalent to a sign and trade apparently.

If the NHL ever does a full NBA style sign and trade those 2 teams will make NHL history

Seattle is aiming to be competitive in a piss-weak Pacific right out of the gate. The Canucks are primed to show better than they did last year, and I suspect the Flames will as well. The Kings continue to progress. Edmonton could very realistically miss the playoffs if they can't sort out the blueline or if Smith decides he isn't superhuman anymore.

Confirmed that the NHL will be releasing the full 82 game schedule tomorrow (Thursday) for every team at 6 PM. Starts in October.
They were working on 2 versions of the schedule-one that includes a break for the Winter Olympics and one that doesn't, as they're still fighting about it with the NHLPA (players weren't allowed to go in 2018), so stay tuned.

In general Hyman has a good work ethic, and is a good 2way player but I don't think he gets you 20 goals away from superstars

Im wondering if maybe some UFA selections are not the real selections (like Oleksiak contract details arent confirmed). Maybe they take a contract player from DAL and then sign Oleksiak later during free agency. They could do the same with Driedger in FLA. I heard rumours about Vatrano being in a side deal, but maybe Vatrano is the official pick and Driedger will just be signed officially when UFA opens? Those 2 changes would give them 20 picks under contract

I'm still not buying some of the actual leaks though cause something similar happened with vegas than we got the expansion and I think only 10% of the leaked picks happened

But if all were leaked man this could be very bad for ratings meaning more money loss for the NHL and Bettman wont be happy with reporters lul
