Habs will apparently sign David Savard and Cedric Paquette, 2 ex-Tampa players

The Savard signing is excellent. He was so good for #LetsGoLightning down the stretch, I was initially not pleased that they gave up a first-rounder for him, but he was completely worth it (not to mention his gorgeous Stanley-Cup winning assist on the Colton goal in Game 5)

Sorry if I'm rubbing it in, @Kotkaniemi15 @A_Habs_fan smile

Yeah with Weber likely gone for the year it makes more sense, it didn’t make any sense to me for him to get brought in for the 3rd pair though, as he’ll demand a decent amount of term/aav on the open market and likely get bigger minutes elsewhere (for example, Ottawa could probably offer 4-5 mil over 4-5 years and would slap him on the top pair alongside Chabot). Prior to the Weber injury he woulda been the 3rd pair guy, which makes no sense. Paquette is 100% because he’s french, their 4th line was good this playoffs without Tatar/Drouin in the lineup and Poehling is nipping on the periphery, Paquette doesn’t make a whole lotta sense on face value given he hasn’t been that great since leaving Tampa. Is Drouin gonna remain a Hab next year d’you think? I woulda thought they’d look into moving him regardless this off-season, obviously the break was his business but he hasn’t been the best fit in Montreal anyway imo.

I was expecting Drouin to be dealt for a mobile defenseman all summer before the news came out. He's expected to be back for training camp in terms of health situation, it's still unclear whether or not it'll he the Canadiens' camp.

Chabot should probably be higher, as should Theodore, Fox>Carlson and I personally believe Makar should be 1 but I understand if anybody still has Hedman at 1.

I could hear Theodore being higher than Letang, but that's it. Chabot and Fox need to prove themselves a little bit more to be higher; no way is Makar No. 1, don't get me wrong, he's Top 5 in the league, but Hedman is for sure the best in the business (not that I'm biased or anything).

With the back surgery I don't expect him to get a huge return. Still though a 1st will be going back unless Yzerman has another rare lapse in value

I think Mikael Granlund is gonna end up a leaf. They had serious mutual interest during the last free agency but they just could not get the money to work. Also, leafs were eyeing him right up till the deadline but since Nashville made the playoffs they didn't want to move him. Could see him signing a deal like Smith did.

Also on Foligno yeah I think he either goes to Minnesota or Toronto. If Minnesota is out on Eichel they probs grab him. If not probs gonna see him on a 1 year deal in Toronto

rest looks good.

Little undersized but really looked good in the KHL, only problem takes to many penalties

could be a steal or could be another guy who just cant adapt to the NHL

Lets wait and see but not bad

KHL free agents are like lottery tickets they can come out great and really make an impact or just be another depth guy

If so then Dallas can’t afford them. In this scenario without Dobby we have -3.1 million dollars of cap space, without Bishop we have -1.5 million dollars of cap space, and with both we have -6.5 million dollars of cap space.

Can't see it being a steal. When it's the case, it's players who have never been given a look in the NHL at all. Wideman has been bounced around a lot and was barely NHL caliber during the last few seasons. It's no risk, but it's likely not one that will pay off.

If you asked me before Goodrow signed, I would say 4x4. Now with Goodrow getting paid, I think Coleman gets close to 5M

Murray gets 2-3M for 1-2 years

I picked Columbus because they'll give Granlund a top 6 role. I think the Leafs will sign Bonino (forgot to include him in the list)

My guess is that Foligno wants to play with his brother
