He can have the Norris, but I think Comeau probably takes the Vezina

--Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award--
B. Zito (FLA)
C. Fletcher (PHI)
J. Kekalainen (CBJ)

So you’re saying that one of Philadelphia or Columbus makes it to the conference finals? Bold.

1 year is fine, leaves them cap space next summer to re-sign Dubois and target Pulock/Parayko

The Sharks getting Eklund at 7th makes me think were in a simulation, this ****s stupid how he fell to us cause he could save the Sharks

Nobody is gonna take a small winger in the top 5 when you have massive, mobile defenseman and high end centres on the board. He’s probably top 3 in overall skill/impact but his size made him fall. I pretty much expected that to happen, I had him going to the sharks in my mock, and I’m not defending this foolish line of thinking of course, but that’s the logic from an NHL GM’s perspective. Also missing on a huge, mobile D is easier to justify in 5 years if he busts than missing on a tiny winger is lol

That’s expensive for a comeback KHL player but considering Arizona has been taking all the dumps, they have to have at least 1 guy who has potential value

Kind of makes sense as they need the money for Ovie but I would have honestly thought they would try to move Kempny

Fleury is a 1A in Vegas LMAO and plays behind an elite defense. And he crumbled against MTL. Saying MAF>Helle is ludicrous

No chance. Fleury had the 2nd-highest Save % of any goalie to play 30 or more games this year (.928, trailed only Varlamov who was .929), and his GAA was 1.98 (again, 2nd best in the league amongst all goalies to play 30 or more games, only behind Grubauer). Secondly, he didn't crumble against MTL-he gave up a GAA of 2.50 over 4 games (1 goal in Game 1, 3 goals each in Games 2, 3 (which went to OT because of his behind-the-net blunder) and 5). That' s not stellar, but it's hardly "crumbling." You know who crumbled against MTL? Hellebuyck. He gave up 13 goals in 4 games, a GAA of 3.25. Now THAT'S actually bad. Fleury is better than Hellebuyck in every facet of the game, and the stats back it up.
The one thing I will give you is that Hellebuyck plays with a much worse defense, but so does, say, Thatcher Demko, and his and Hellebuyck's stats were pretty much even this year. Fleury isn't the product of a good D, he's the lynchpin.

Coleman is going to get PAID

DARN IT! Coleman was as consistent and dependent of a bottom 6 F you could find this season. Shame he can't come back. Hope he's successful elsewhere, unless he goes to a team I can't stand...

TSN’s Darren Dreger is reporting that the Washington Capitals have dealt defenseman Brenden Dillon to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for two second-round picks.

I agree to an extent

Dillion is one of those Dman who can do a bit of everything and as a bonus is an enforcer on the blue line. Plus the contract is pretty good in todays NHL.

For me a single 2nd would have been more than fair. Two seconds was overkill.

Funny thing is Dillon and Toews were traded for the same value lul

Good deal by the Caps. They have enough D-men, and now they get 2 2nd rounders for one that they didn't need. Winnipeg is desperate to get blue-line help.

Two seconds for Dillon is too much considering WSH had to move him for cap reasons.

So that means

Hughes-Myers
OEL-Schmidt (unless Schmidt is traded which apparently they are still trying to get it done)
Rathbone-Schenn

Demko better go ask Hellybuck for advice
