Don’t think that’s a terrible Eichel offer but it may be beaten. Basically the equivalent of 4 mid-round 1sts. But your gonna get some delusional Sabres fan who say “SaBrEs LaUgH yOu OfF tHe PhOnE CoMe BaCk WiTh TkAcHuK VaLiMaKi RaS aNd YoUr FiRsT bOrN”

So 1) Sean Monahan doesn't have the value. He's honestly going to be kept by Calgary because you aren't getting value for him

2) For the past 2 years including today, it was made clear wild don't have any interest in Sean Monahan.

Calgary is probably going to come in 2nd place in the Eichel sweepstakes like usual

1) Yes because nobody wants top 6 NHL centers on good contracts
2) No, they had no interest in Dumba for Monahan. Unless he changed how his name is spelt I don’t think this is Dumba for Monahan

I mean this is just factually incorrect. Other wild fans have said this also. This is a thing that goes back to last year. There is no reason to shoot the messager

Why is Perry in the top 6 on a team that he won't sign with

Ive thought about flipping Monahan to Ottawa, they were reported to be looking for a top 6 center, and Sean played there for 3 years. Base it off the Duchene 3-way trade, I think what Colorado got in return for that trade isn't far off Eichel's value

Can you please explain I was being sincere in my explanation? All I said was dating back to last year our beat writer said wild were not interested in Sean Monahan. I was attacked as me saying nobody wants dumba

@Tansor , & others wild fans like yourself are better at explanations

The Wild have been very clear that they aren't interested in Monahan. We have the best beat writer in the business in Michael Russo. If he prints it, you can put it in the bank. He's reported repeatedly that the Wild aren't interested in Monahan.

That being said, even if we were interested, I can't imagine us ever paying two top 10 prospects from our farm and a first for Monahan.

If you wanted to talk Greenway and Khovanov for Monahan, maybe I'm interested. But I still don't think the Wild would do it given what has been reported.

Why does this always happen to us lol. We might not even come 2nd tbh, nobody's even talking about calgary being in on it (LA and NYR are out apparently but it's mainly CBJ and ANA getting attention, with a little bit on VGK and MIN, and if they discuss other potential landing spots it's COL or CAR before CGY)

I don’t really like that trade for Buffalo, and I’m not sure Calgary can afford to take on a $10 million center and not move significant salary back in the same deal. Not saying Pelletier won’t be a good player, and I like Dube, but in terms of roster talent buffalo doesn’t get a lot back right away. Not to mention you’re barely moving any money back to Buffalo in the deal. Mid round firsts this year aren’t worth as much as they would be in other years.

I still maintain that if buffalo trades Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart this off-season and gets primarily draft picks and prospects that aren’t NHL ready they are telling their fan base in no uncertain terms that they have no intention of being competitive for another five years. That’s basically consigning themselves to a potentially 15 year playoff drought. And needless to say nobody is going to buy tickets to watch that team play.

That wild trade is so bad. Any GM that just alone gives up a 1st for SM should be fired immediately.

This is worse then Money for Dumba. At least that trade worked for cap, this one doesn't work at all for MN's cap.

Here's the thing, it's been written that Adams wants a top 6 center prospect under 25 in return so it probably starts with Zary. Pelletier is projected as a middle 6 playmaker, nothing wrong with that but doesn't have the potential to fill Eichel's vacated spot. Otherwise the trade is fine if you replace Pelletier with Zary.

Ok, I’m fine with that as a Flames fan. Seems totally reasonable to me
