WPG
  1. Subban, P.K. ($4,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
New Jersey has lots of cap space and they have no wingers that shoot right. This gives them a veteran winger who can still help on the PP. It also sheds PK's contract and gets them a big young LHD in Stanley.
NJD
  1. Wheeler, Blake
  2. 2023 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Logan Stanley
3.
WPG
  1. Boeser, Brock
Additional Details:
Vancouver gets a great room guy in PK and at a good cap hit. PK also brings alot of good energy which after the year Vancouver had last year they need some good energy. Copp brings them a great middle six winger who can also play centre if needed. Copp's style might be better in Green's coaching style and not Maurice's.
VAN
  1. Subban, P.K. ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. 2022 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Andrew Copp

Devils aren’t taking on 3 more years of Wheeler and eating half of PK cap for next year, regardless of whether they have the cap space or not. They’ll be content just keeping PK until his contract expires next year instead of taking on another bad contract long term.

You’d get instantly fired if you were GM and made these moves

Easy no from VAN. Boeser is a core piece.

The value on the jersey trade is horrific for Winnipeg and I don't see Vancouver trading Boeser.

Virtanen? Bettman and Chipman are not going to like you signing a guy under police investigation.

Blake Wheelers' contract is significantly worse than Subban's at 50% retained. The first and Stanley don't make up the difference.

The Devils do need RWs but Wheeler isn't a good fit. The Devils have Holtz and Mercer in the system, two right shot wingers that will be NHL ready in the next 1-2 years. If the Devils were to trade for a veteran winger, it would be for a guy that has 1-2 years left on his contract, not 3. And it would be for a winger better than Wheeler

Stanley is a big defenseman that the Devils needed a year ago, but not anymore with the additions of Siegenthaler and Graves

It is a very generous offer, but don’t think it’s a match for NJD.
They will get younger - either throw a trade or by just letting Subbans deal expire.

You’ll have to pay us to acquire Subban. Take away Boeser and we might consider

I'd take that Wheeler deal all day, but retain half his cap hit to immediately flip him elsewhere for more assets, he has a ton of value at 4.125 million x 3 yrs. Eating that salary for the following three seasons is definitely worth it if the return is Stanley, WPG 1st and whatever else you get for that flip (another 1st rd pick? a highly touted prospect? opportunities are endless)

I definitely agree. Honestly I’d retain Subban 4.5 if Winnipeg retains 1 million for the 3 years. Kinda evens out a bit. Then flip him with what they want retained
