Sharks would probably decline without an extension let alone with one. Not saying hes worth 3 firsts just not the right return at all, Id rather a steal like Newhook and a 3rd even over this tbh.
Its like talking to a wall:
The Sharks want multiple prospects (depending on the value of each of them or 1 good one) and a first as a base for a trade which they easily will be retaining 50% of Hertl and can take cap back. They will find a good trade and this aint it.
So for example:
Prospect that would enter their top 5 guys (Eklund (S/ A+ value give or take), Bordeleau (I view Bordeleau as a S but really hes an A), NEW PROSPECT (about an A value prospect), Merkley (A-/ B+), Kniazev (B+), Wiesblatt(B))
1st
Cap move
Additional Asset varies
for
Hertl 50%
maybe a pick or roster depth
Now Boston shouldn't trade for Hertl because Lysell IS NOT A SUPER HIGH END PROSPECT but Boston has a depleted pool. so while Lysell isnt a amazing prospect hes by far Bostons best and needed guy, and he would need to be involved so Boston shouldn't inquire on Hertl. Lysell would probably be the Sharks 3rd-6th best prospect (A lot people are high on Gushchin, Gaudreau so he could fall between Wiesblatt and lower) (Eklund, Bordeleau, Merkley, Lysell, Kniazev, Wiesblatt, Gushchin is where I'd place him).
