V5 Rules Document has been completed. Please read all the way through it as many things have changed from V4 and its always good to get a refresher on the rules. You may post your team pages at 9:15est, remember to tag @flamesfan419 in the comments. Do not make any trades yet, as we will wait for all threads and team pages to be done, before we start trading.

Clarification on off-season LTIR-

The use of off-season LTIR is permitted by the NHL as long as the team using LTIR is over the 10% cushion, the player will be injured at least 10 games/24 days after the regular season starts, and the team is cap compliant by opening day.

After 2 weeks of being open, it’s time to close the poll.

The winner was 4-2 (non BOG) and 3-2 (bog involved) with 58.8% of the vote.

UDFA Draft Information

The 23-24 season is fast approaching, which means our UDFA Draft will take place. For those who don't know what the UDFA draft is, it is a draft where teams get to select up to 2 players who are undrafted* free agents. The draft will start next Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 am EST. Like the entry draft, each team will have until a deadline to make their pick. These deadlines are 30 minutes apart and will not change if a team makes their selection early. Draft picks can not be traded and may be passed if a team elects to not draft anyone. To draft a player you must have a contract spot for them.

Below is linked the draft sheet which includes the draft order and available players. All players allowed to be selected are included on the list.

Waivers will open Monday, October 2nd and will work as they did last year. Monday - Wednesday you can waive players and Thurs - Sat. you can claim players. Waiver awards will be posted Sundays.

For pre-season/October, you are allowed 2 waiver claims. Once one claim is awarded, you go to the back of the line.

Linked here is the Waivers Sheet for the 2023-24 Season: V5.3 Waivers

Waiver priority for the first month of the season will be based off of last year's standings + playoff results.
After the first GM Game scoring period of the year is completed, waiver priority will be the inverse order of this year's standings.

Please follow all the rules outlined in the respective threads.

A new rule has been agreed upon by the BoG.

GMs will be allowed to call up a player at anytime during a scoring period if one of their players goes down with an injury.

Once a player is called up, that player is the only one who accumulates points for the scoring period, not the injured player. Also, the called up player must then pass through waivers (if not exempt) to be taken off the roster once the injured player is reinserted into a scoring period. If another player is injured while the initial injured player (now healthy) is waiting for the next scoring period, the now heathy player can be the “call up”

This rule will be inserted in to the GM Game rules doc.

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Roster lock for October will be 11:59pm Wednesday Oct. 11th! Your team MUST be set and cap compliant by this time.

Cap floor is $62.4m

Failure to be compliant may result in penalties which will be at the BOGs discretion.

Clarification/tweak to this rule…

Your player must miss 5 games due to injury to be eligible for a swap. This doesn’t include illness or being a healthy scratch. These 5 games must be within 1 scoring period.

Now that the 1st Scoring Period of the season is complete, waiver priority order will be based on the inverse of the overall league standings. Please see the November tab on the linked sheet. This will be the priority order for all claims made in November.

RFA re-signs will take place in the off-season with the exception of RFAs that re-sign IRL prior to the offseason and you are matching their IRL deal.

Note: This does not apply to RFAs in game that have a contract beyond this season and have signed an extension IRL. Those players will need to be negotiated at their end of their in game contract.

Also, a reminder to GMs as we near the near the trade deadline, you are responsible for making sure you inherit the GM Game contract, not irl contract, for any player you acquire via trade or claim on waivers. We are 3 years into v5 now, so many players' contracts are different. The "Skater Card" on the main scoring sheet should have the most accurate contractual details.

1. The Trade Deadline will be at 11:59pm EST on February 29th.
2. All players that had to wait until 2 weeks prior to the TDL will be eligible for trade on February 16th.
3. The March roster lock will take place on March 1st.

Just like last year, the 23 man roster limit will not be in place following the trade deadline. Teams will be permitted to expand their rosters by a maximum of 3 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goaltender.
This will apply for the March and April scoring periods. Note that your roster must still be below the cap ceiling.
